What is Satanism and How do I know if certain music is inspired by Satan?
Since everyone makes as if I am clueless in this regard. Please give your kind answers. Remember I am a Christian Country girl and are now living in a city being exposed with these things.
Okay, if you can't tell if it promotes Satanism by listening to it, then it's not promoting Satanism. Just because it might ve'en WRITTEN by a Satanists doesn't meet it promotes it. Miley Cyrus' songs are rarely written to promote Jesus.
Secondly, a Satanist isn't necessarily a person who worships Satan.
First of all, you have to realize there is Theistic Satanism and LaVeyan Satanism. They are extremely different. LaVeyan Satanism is more the worship of your own individuality. Knowledge is extremely important to both Theistic and Laveyan Satanists, and it's a huge sin to them to be stupid. Satanists are also not evil, contrary to popular belief. I'm sure you'll actually find out you share quite a few Satanistic views.
I'll give you links to some Wikipedia articles to gain a rudimentary understanding of it, since Wikipedia is by no means 100% reliable. Go to their references for better information.
EDIT: Here's a quote that I thought you might find interesting from Church of Satan's current leader Peter H. Gilmore:
"Satanists do not believe in the supernatural, in neither God nor the Devil. To the Satanist, he is his own God. Satan is a symbol of Man living as his prideful, carnal nature dictates. The reality behind Satan is simply the dark evolutionary force of entropy that permeates all of nature and provides the drive for survival and propagation inherent in all living things. Satan is not a conscious entity to be worshiped, rather a reservoir of power inside each human to be tapped at will. Thus any concept of sacrifice is rejected as a Christian aberration?in Satanism there?s no deity to which one can sacrifice."
EDIT2: Uh-huh. Because I'm trying to educate someone, I have my own "SatanistICCgenda". I'm assuming you didn't bother to understand what Satanism is either, or see that I'm a firkin atheist. Some people are OH so smart.
Every word that proceeds from the mouth of God is HOLY. Followers of Christ will write/play music in accordance to God's Holy word. If you are hearing foul lyrics invoking suggestive evil thoughts and actions, then the source is not of God but rather the source is the god of this world which is Satan. also, some bands claim to be Christian are not Christian. You may be able to detect this by listening carefully. Do the lyrics exalt God? Do the lyrics of the song praise Jesus?
Don't listen to these people- they have their own Satanic agendas and will lead you in the wrong direction.
In order to protect myself from the evil in this world, I unfortunately had to educate myself in its methods. I read the Principia Discordia in its entirety, and within it I located a useful way to discern which music is of bad influence or not:
Satanists want to be able to locate one another, yet still retain a shroud of anonymity. Therefore, they invented a way to secretly advertise themselves as the devil's demons. Write down the name of the band in question. If you are able to spell "Satan" with the letters in the artist's title, you are most definitely looking at a band that has been infused with the demonic aura of Mephistopheles.
I've no idea on Satanism but what I believe from heart is that MUSIC can't be inspired by any Satan. Music is the food of the soul. I'm ready to love Satan if it sings a nice song.
Actually much of the music that is attributed to Satan or Satanism is not true Satanism at all (as much as I like Marilyn Manson and Slipknot I have to include you) True Satanism is about empowering yourself through meditation, you know like opening the Chakras, and strengthening your aura. Doing these things will improve your quality of life. Trust me I know what its like to believe like you do know and I am much happier after having left it behind. Also true Satanists are not like Curse this Curse that destroy this destroy that (this is just what Christians and the media want you to believe) those who are in power and wish to enslave you and everyone else don't stand a chance if you are a powerful person. Give yourself some time to think about it. Reading the sites below will give you a much better idea about true Satanism and why I say Christianity is not true.
I have a Christian mate, Hes right into the whole church thing, hes probably one of the nicest guys i know. He always talked to me heaps about religion and stuff, would always ask for my opinion on what i though about it due to my "religion".
We both came to the conclusion that why should it matter if you know something is inspired by the devil or not? as long as you can determine whats right and whats definitely wrong you should know what the best possible decision to make is, and if not something around those lines.
Also from what i understand about Christianity shouldn't god be able to protect you from the devil if certain things inspired or influenced by him? so if that is true then you really shouldn't have to worry about any of this, just stick to what ever it is you be live in, live by your values and you cant go wrong. Hopefully this helps.
SATANISM
As far as i know there is Theistic Satanism and LaVey Satanism. Theistic satanism is about devil worship and making dark pacts with him (please correct me if i am wrong, much appreciated).
LaVey Satanists be live we are natural creatures, they teach responsibility and an understanding of all the forces of nature, and how to balance these forces inside us. They also believe in self preservation as their highest law. After all how can you protect someone else if you cant protect yourself.
They hate the use of cannabis crystal meths etc. As it degrades you as a human being, They also "dislike" devil worshipers as they really do give satanists a bad name.
And before you say but isn't satan from Christianity? Satan is used as more of a mascot than anything. Hope i didnt go off topic to much i tend to do that at times, anyway i hope this helps you.
