Being able to deceive the masses while killing countless souls sending them into hell.. If this is the case why do people continually try to lie and say otherwise? My opinion is that most people like to deceive others those are the true satanists. They seem like 'angels of light' but are stealing countless souls under their wicked 'mask'. They appear to hate or gesture to hate the actual 'Satan' in the bible but on the other side of their true life they are doing a lot of wrong things and making false accusations to use the power given by God to them as a tool for deceiving many.. I see many people giving thumbs downs to answers I find very true - so I think the answer to why satanism is overlooked or 'misunderstood' is the obvious answer in and of itself - it wants to be. Do you fall into love more easily and out of it if you don't care to understand it? The truth is something that is very hard to nail and die for..exactly why Jesus died. It is my biggest belief that God requires a sacrifice for all things and that is the reason he sent Jesus who he named his son even..a physical and spiritual lamb. He wanted to show people that all things require sacrifice but what about the people who do not believe this? What about the people who do but choose death as form of expression..i.e. one day girl comes home and dad is all self righteous but has showed countless times in the past how evil he is i.e. having affair with prostitute treating family as a lamb..deceiving many people..(almost like Judas I would say..)

LaVeyan Satanists do not believe in, nor worship the Christian Satan. Those that "deceive" others about Satanism are not true Satanists, we openly and accurately represent Satanism. Satanists do not commit any illegal acts or "wrong doings", and their Church of Satan membership would be revoked if they did. LaVeyan Satanism does not condone any illegal activity, and it is rather UN Satanic to commit illegal acts which could cost a Satanist their freedom. You are incredibly deluded about Satanism, and I have no further interest in correcting you.

Satan is a deceiver. He is teaching many that He is actually THE true and good God. he is revealing more of his nature and his time draws to an end.
Satan is a manifestation of evil spirit. It was a concept brought from ancient Mesopotamia and Eastern India. When people got sick, they thought it was an evil spirit inhabiting their body. The church adopted this concept as a means of "crowd control". There is no Satan. There is no hell, unless you want to call our mortal lives hell. Evil is simply the misuse of God's greatest gift, free will. When you die, you will either be closer to God or not. Then you will decide whether or not you want to go through this hell again for the chance to get closer to the almighty.
Interesting perspective, but I do not know of a single Satanist who actually believes in or remotely hon ours the Satan portrayed in the Bible.
I know of three main types of Satanists: LaVeyan, Theistic, and Setian. The LaVeyans, as Amanda pointed out, are atheistic, hence they do not believe in God, Satan, Jesus, or any other imaginary "pipe dream". The Satan Theistic Satanists worship is not a fallen angel and does not bow down to the Christian God, or any other God for that matter.
Every single Satanist I know strives for truth and knowledge, not lies or deceit. Being true to ones self is something I, and other Satanists, strive for.
I do not hate the Satan portrayed in the Bible. I feel the Satan in the Bible is the attempt to demonize the true character of Satanas, like many other things that dusty anthology has tried to discredit and belittle. On a similar note, it is because of this ionization that Satanism is misunderstood. Satanism, whether it is Theistic or Atheistic, is a very beautiful religion in my opinion. It is not what you hear on the 10 O?clock news of Devil worshipers doing obscene and horrible things consisting of rape, killing, etc, but a religion that respects all living things.

As to your lamb, you can keep him. We Satanists want no part in him. Again, I do not see Satan as a "retarded piece of crap" but as a sentient being. Satan requires no sacrifices like your God does; Satanas has no blood lust.

The thing is, we could go around in circles forever here. Your viewpoint appears to start from the 'Biblical' model of the Universe. God opposed to Satan. Good vs Evil.
You don't seem to see (or appreciate) that for many people here, that isn't the way the world works. Now you will, presumably, say that is because we (for I count myself in this number) are deceived. In which case, why ask our opinions (as you appear to have done)? For whatever 'facts' we can provide, you could just as easily dismiss as 'lies'.
But since you appear to have asked what people think, I will say that I disagree with your 'take'. Nobody 'knows'. We just use our (possibly God given) reasoning and make what best we can of the whole thing. I would simply say that, to me, it's a very odd state of affairs if God created Heaven and also a being whose whole purpose appears to be to prevent people from going there.
