Default Satanism. The truth.?

Satantic practices seem far from the actual worship of Satan. They focus most directly in giving in to ones self. Worshiping thyself. To me, they seem to be a;OT like atheists with a twist--a guideline of rules to live by. I hope I'm not putting my foot in my mouth--correct me if any of this is wrong, please.

My question is though:

aside from the name 'Satanism' why is the misconception so great that they actually even believe in a Satan, much less worship one? Is it misinformation perhaps?

The simple truth is, if you want people to stop associating Satanism with Satan...hello.... CHANGE THE NAME, people.

i think it's intentional, so that ignorant fun dies will leave them alone, that's why some of them indeed say "hail Satan", just to annoy and enrage ignorant people...

Satan is an angel. Very powerful angel that wanted to be greater than God. He was kicked out of heaven and took a third of the angels with him. he is very real.

I think satanism has been used by Christians to describe anything non-Christian. No one else believes in a Satan.

it is a natural assumption - obviously the character of Satan is taken from Judeo-Christian tradition, so most people would assume that since Christians worship Christ, Satanists worship Satan. I had the misconception, which someone corrected for me.

I still don't get calling oneself a Satanist. Since Satan is the mythical representation of evil, I wouldn't want to align myself with it.

It is more likely that they do not believe in a "Satan" but choose to use that word because it is the most objectionable word to the church and Christians.

Most "satanists" are actually just atheists who want to freak out Christians by pretending to worship the devil.

Most atheists have better things to do.

Did you know that today's satanists practice human sacrifice? Have you ever read about Aleister Crowley? This nut was so evil, his christian mother nicknamed him the beast. He was kicked out of Italy for allegedly practicing infant sacrifices and one of his disciples there died from drinking blood. Satanists are far WORSE than atheists.

Make no mistake, people who claim to worship Satan are Satanists . They have gone beyond mere disobedience and become reprobate.

And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, Backbiters, haters of God, spiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, Without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them. Romans 1:28-32

Satanism is actually atheistic. They do not believe in or worship Satan literally, they use Satan as a symbol representing human urges and tendencies.

Other than the name people may be mislead about Satanism because of the bit of flair Satanists like to use, Black Masses and such.

They make a point of saying that "Satan" is just a symbol of man's nature. Which is well and good, but don't be surprised if people get confused.
My ex boyfriend is a La Vey Satanist. He is an atheist, though does ritual magi ck. To me that doesn't make sense. He explained it to me, that it is working with thought form energy(or some such thing) He doesn't like to be pinned down on what he believes at all.
From what I get, it developed as a backlash to hypocritical, self-denying Christianity. He is kind of a rebel, but I didn't mind him calling me "his goddess." (;

Satan is real, God is real, Satan is a fallen angel, he is ultimately defeated by God through his son Jesus Christ, however he is still present in our world until Jesus returns. Satans only weapon is deception, if he can keep us from accepting the free gift from God , his son Jesus, he has our soul. When we worship anything besides God we are separated from God, Sin is separation from God. When we are separated from God we open ourselves up to further deception and are fed the lies that, we can be Gods and have anything we want when we want etc... but that will not bring us true happiness. True happiness only comes from God. So by giving to ones self you are not honoring God, and in turn you are following Satan. Hope this helps a little.

well, about satanism, they say that they dint worship Satan, but they live their life the way Satan wants them to, and that's by doing what they please and rejecting any Devinne rules or regulations. They say that they believe in satisfying their own desires as being the most important thing in life. Some way worship ping anyone besides GOD or not believing in GOD or worship ping ones self is a form of devil worship. I know the original founder of the church of Satan use to perform rituals where he would chant," hail Satan."

Well, pup Satan is real however the scumbag has been stripped of power. The pant waste can't even fight his slim my stupid little old way out of a wet paper bag. Why? Because I will let you in on his biggest deception of all time. The scab has NO POWER, so where does the power come from you say? From GOD that's right from GOD. GOD gives each one of us power and authority. When we turn to the puke we allow Satan to use our GOD given power and the authority to use it like he did to Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. Except now the scum cannot hold on to it so he uses it to lure uneducated individuals into everlasting pain, agony, and misery with the worthless waste.

He cannot touch Christians because Christians not only have their own power and authority but they are connected to the MOTHER LOAD - GOD.

Take care and may God bless you spiritually.

Who did the people of ancient Egypt worship?

The belief system of the people of ancient Egypt from the 4Th millennium to the first centuries AD included polytheism. Their gods held both human and animal form, as pharaohs promoted their preferred worship. All the pharaohs were preoccupied with the afterlife, as evident in the surviving tombs and pyramids. People paid large sums to be buried near the king hoping to gain passage into the netherworld, while all used passwords with spells from the "Book of the Dead."

The pyramids date from the Old Kingdom era of Egypt's history. The cult of Osiris flourished in the Middle Kingdom era, as the Exodus of the Jews constitutes the New Kingdom era. The myth starts out that Osiris was slain, his body torn apart and flung all over Egypt. Isis and Nephthys found the pieces of his body, giving new life to Osiris, who became the ruler of the underworld. The Book of Exodus in the Bible's Old Testament tells of Moses being born in Egypt to Hebrew parents, who set him afloat on the Nile in a reed basket saving him from laws that required all newborn Hebrew males to be executed. The Pharaoh's daughter found the child while bathing in the Nile and reared Moses as her adopted son. Moses learned of his heritage, forsook the royal upbringing, and chose the sufferings of his people, instead. He led God's people out of Egypt's oppressive slavery.

The people of ancient Egypt worshiped their gods of astrology. Apis (Taurus) was revised from the Hebrew prophecy of the coming Messiah, portrayed as a bull rushing forth with might energy, fierce wrath, and horns pushing back his enemies and destroying them. The Egyptian Zodiac of Denderah corrupts this Hebrew prophecy calling the bull, Apis. After an Apis bull died, it was buried with pompous ritual and its calf was its successor. Apis' priest used divination practices, as they saw omens from the bull's behavior. The Judeo meaning of the ram is one of redeeming qualities. It is a living lamb showing the foundation upon which the victory of atonement rests. The Zodiac of Denderah changed it to the rescuing of Phrixus out of Thessaly to Colchis. Phrixus sacrificed the ram to Zeus, who placed the ram in the heavens as a constellation.

To worshippers of ancient Egyptian religion, the soul consists of two entities: one survives death yet remains near the body, while the other goes into the realm of the dead. Ancient Egyptian worshippers offered up millions of sacrificed ibis and baboons to the moon god, Thoth. Children were sacrificed to the god, Moloch, usually in times of great distress attempting to appease the character of this god. Laws given to Moses by God after the Exodus forbade the Israelites from participating in this worship. Much of the practices of modern day Satanism can be traced back to the ancient Egyptian religion. Imohotep was an Egyptian magus, who was worshipped as the god of medicine. Egyptologists regard that the whole "Book of the Dead," with two hundred chapters of curses, and possible medicinal cures reside in Imohotep's tomb, which has yet to be found. This is causing a major stir within the Egyptian society to unearth Imohotep's tomb, firing a renewed interest and practice in worship of the ancient Egyptian religion.

Satan Worship ? What are the Realities?
A man named Anton S. LaVey introduced Satan worship into the United States culture in 1966. He first started a group called the Magic Circle in San Francisco, California where people participated in eating human body parts. This shocking ideology grew in popularity leading Mr. LaVey to start the Church of Satan that boasted over 10,000 members at one time. Satanism is recognized as a legitimate religion by the government protected by the U.S. Constitution. Crimes arising from the practice of this religion have caused lawmakers in 24 States to write a special bill of rights for survivors of this religion. Satan worship entails nudity, perverted sexual acts, homosexuality, and torture of animals and humans.

Teens are known to develop their own ideological rituals in a form of Satan worship called Ad hoc groups. These teens prey upon other teens that battle low self-esteem, having no friends. The initial signs of a teen?s involvement in Satan worship include a drastic drop of grades, unusual angry outbursts, dying hair color to black, wearing bangs over the left eye, moodiness, severe depression, bazaar drawings in journals, and obsessions with death.

Satan Worship ? The Proof
Satan worship involves ritual practices as part of their ceremonial precepts. The ideology of Satanists is to do everything that is opposite the concepts of the Christian God. God is pure in truth where the goals of Satan worship deal with all that is considered bad and perverted. Indulging in what makes them feel good is a must no matter what the consequences are to someone else. If society considers something good, to them it is bad. It is better to do bad things to other people. These practices lead to ritual abuses in children and adults with detrimental outcomes. Injuries from these practices overrun emergency rooms during satanic holidays. Legal court documents prove that successful prosecution of these perpetrators gives a sense of justification for what was done to the victims.

Satan Worship - Symptoms That Are Found and Defined In Ritual Abuse
Ritual abuse may be defined as abuse, which occurs frequently in a systematic manner. The most severe abuses are rape, sexual assault and torture, human/animal sacrifices or being buried alive in graves. Symptoms arise in the victims of ritualistic abuse. Children will act out what has been done to them by harming animals or other children in the same way. They will perform sexual acts and self-mutilation scarring. It is not uncommon to see the victim rock back and forth chanting or banging their heads. The children may be troubled with night terrors and have trouble staying awake during the day after late night rituals. Parents can identify the days of sleepiness in children around the same time as Christian holidays and solstices, because satanic rituals are conducted at these times. One or two of these symptoms does not necessarily warrant a child as being ritually abused, but a number of these symptoms coupled with other signs should be heeded by seeking professional help for treatment.

Satan Worship - What Can We Do To Help?
There is hope and healing for the survivors of ritualistic satanic abuse. Don?t be discouraged when people disbelieve your story as you start to tell someone. Seek Christian counseling for treatment. Ask God to send you to the ones who will lovingly help you out of the darkness. Parents and childless couples can become more involved with the children and teens in their neighborhood. Befriending the loners and creating an environment in which they feel comfortable with no judgment is conducive for growth in the self-worth that God sees in them. The slightest amount of good attention will make a difference in that child?s well being and eternity. This type of attentiveness from compassionate people will give the teens the power they need to avoid activities presented by Satan worship.

Caring adults can start after school programs in their homes or churches for both elementary and high school students. We can pray for the worshippers of Satan to find salvation. It does happen as a true miracle of God?s forgiveness. Be alert to illegal drug activity that takes place and turn it in to police. Satan worshippers use drugs to enhance their religious ceremonies. Parents can keep track of their children?s friends and their activities. Research the subject for more knowledge.

The Bible says, ?Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God (Ephesians 6:13-17).

Satan is named in the Bible as the "master deceiver". Don't be deceived into thinking that anything selfishness and sinful is okay. God calls this foolishness and sinful (which are worthy of death and nothing else). You cannot be self satisfied with yourself ever. Trust me on this. Better yet trust your Creator on this.

Jesus is your your only hope for happiness and eternal salvation. Don't be tricked into believing Hell is okay. It's worse than you could imagine. Satan will continue to try tricking you into something, but you can escape it by turning to Jesus now. Read and study the Bible. start in Matthew, John or Luke first.

Some Satanists do believe in the actual christian Satan. Most though are as you say believe in themselves and take responsibility for their own actions good or bad.

I remember reading somewhere about the fact that the confusion may come from the Egyptian deity Set or something like that. I think on Wikipedia.org

You're right, it's far from it.

LaVeyan Satanism, originated of course by Anton Szandor LaVey, is more or less the worship of the self. Actually, it's EXACTLY the worship of the self. You do what you feel is right for YOU, rather than what society thinks is right for you.

And you're correct; it is an atheistic religion, by all means. Satanists, as long as they follow LaVeyan Satanism rather than Luciferian, do not "believe" in "God" or "Satan."

The term satanism was actually used because at the time it was beginning to form and develop, Christians felt that you are either with "God" or you're against "Him." And to be against "Him," you were with "Satan." Therefore, atheistic LaVeyan Satanists were considered worshipers of Satan, rather than worshipers of self.

As for the terminology itself, "Satan" is used in this case to represent all things forbidden by Christianity, which one may, and as a Satanist, should, allow; mainly considered "sin" to the general population. But as I said, LaVeyan Satanism offers worship of self rather than worship of the mass beliefs practiced and developed by a mainly Christian / Catholic society.

It is, in fact, misinformation, so to speak. Personally, I think that to really understand the truth behind it, takes a very long time to do. But regardless, the negative connotation coined from the word "Satan" transfers of course into it's altered form; "Satanism." Hence, Satanists are viewed negatively by most, even shunned by some.

All in all, there is no "Satan," in my belief. Never has been, never will be. Nor is there a "God," never has been, never will be.
