Would Theistic Satanism be something that believers such as Christians would practise
As Atheists do not believe in Satan, is it safe to assume that those who practices Satanism are from the religious clan (and in most cases Christians?)
You do not get it. The root or origin of a Satanist must be within some form of religious upbringing... And since Christianity is the most obsessed with the devil, it appears that most satanist would originate from the Christian clan?
Thanks Geezah.. This was in no way an attack on Christianity.. Just wanted to find out if Satanism originated from Christian dogma etc.. and you did answer it well!
I suppose there are some satanists in the UK, but in general people are not that obsessed with religion or anti - religion as in the states.
GEEZAH... U are very interesting... Do not get me wrong! I think that I have been under the wrong impression that devil worship constitutes a form of theistic satanism... Thanks for pointing out the flaw in the argument :-)
Geezah, I have read bits of the satanic bible and have visited your site. I was not TALKING LAVEYAN SATANISM here...I was referring to devil worship ping... if u do not want to call it Theistic fine, but I clearly did not intend to discuss LaVey here.,.
No. "Theistic Satanism" is an oxymoron. Before the Church of Satan and the non-theistic religion represented by it, there was no group of people who identified themselves as "Satanists" and practiced an actual thing called "Satanism".
If you mean "devil worshipers", then say so!
If you're asking whether devil worshipers ultimately derive their same dogma from Christianity and old scare propaganda from the Catholic church, then yes, most of them to. Though to call them "Christians" would be stretching it. If you want to call devil worship "inverted Christianity", then in some cases you'd be correct.

Actually, Satanists come from all different types of religious backgrounds and upbringings. I know this because as a priest in the Church of Satan, I've met hundreds of other Satanists.
If you read actual Satanic tenets such as the "9 Satanic Statements", you'll see that it's an epicurean/objectivity philosophy that doesn't define itself by Christian tenets. The reason why it's called "Satanism" is because in the time and place it was founded (mid 20Th century USA), "Satan" is the mythological archetype that best represents the principles. Had the religion been formed in another time and culture, it might have ended up with a different name.
It is true that some who call themselves Theistic Satanists are in fact Christian. They are rebels who desperately hate their indoctrination but are not yet free. They are still defeated but have the most hope. So long as one believes in Satan as a Christian concept, the person is lost. The truth is, Satan is our Creator, but he was blasphemed and made into a hideous enemy of mankind to prevent the Gentile people from knowing their Creator. He and his Demons were replaced by Jewish mythological figures to be worshiped by the Gentiles such as Jesus Christ and Yahweh. The Demons (Original Gods) were replaced with angels, and humanity has suffered tremendously from being disconnected from their true source. Christianity has been forced on the people since day one. Mass murder and fear has been their greatest friend, and of course they blame all of this on Satan to prevent people from knowing the truth. The reality is that there is a war taking place involving the unthinkable, opposing advanced extraterrestrial beings over the control of our planet. The Earth belongs to Satan, but enemy forces are at play trying to enslave the Gentile people. Satan has won the war and desires that we all learn how to defend ourselves and join in to share the victory. The people are waking up after thousands of years of abuse. Evolution continues as our Creator intended from the beginning. In my own experience, I came to Satan after 5 horrible years of Christianity. I had lost everything to the church, was broke, had psychological and physical ailments, I felt guilty about the simplest things to the point of fearing the damnation of my soul, and I felt like no matter what, the Christian God was always displeased with me and that I deserved nothing good in life (of course he was never even there in the first place, and I suffered tremendously for not trusting in myself but instead in a false being and the words of a corrupt book everyday for years). I finally got to my breaking point and began researching Satanism to find a way out of my nightmare. To my very surprise, a Demon visited me after the first night of research, on his own. I knew that Satan was real after that. He has been very good to me ever since I dedicated my soul and even before I had the courage to do so (unlike rumors, he doesn't buy souls). I had moments of clarity, knowing that Satan was truly my God and moments of confusion and fear flashing back to Christian thoughts that Satan was a Christian being. As time went on, things became more clear and I realized the absurdity of Christianity. It is a truly sickening program to those who see it for what it really is. The effort was worth it. I have my life back again and to be honest, it is much better than it was even before my Christian troubles, and I have made some cool spiritual friends. Life is so much more interesting, and I get to enjoy guilt free sex!!!! Yes!!!!!! Hail Satan!!!!
Devil Worship- No not even close. The devil in and of itself is an invented Xtian deity. Just as Satan (The name) was given to Enki the Creator. Satanism is not inverted Xtianity, as those who literally claim to worship the Xtian form of ultimate evil actually take and perform services in direct blasphemy against Xtian 'dogma'.
Devil Worship is literal EVIL, they envision Satan as described in the 'bible' and take it all literal, as if they too will fight Jehovah and the Nazarene someday. They are usually the racists, cultists, and the ones who give TRUE Satanists a bad rap.
Theistic Satanists (except a vocal few) are not about burning churches, hating Jews or Nazi's. Enki chose the name Satan as to let the world know that there is no legitimacy to the Xtian rhetoric. Even though they are VERY Nazi leaning on some things, WNW.joyofsatan.org does describe Theistic Satanism quite well, as does www.theisticsatanism.com, or Look up the Reformed Church of Satan, or Temple of Satan.
There is alot of different views out there, (alot of Luciferians believe that the real Gods are actually advanced alien lifeforms. And some Theistic Satanists have followed that idea and believe that as well.) Many people lump us all together with LeVay, or JoS, or the cults or crazy teens dabbling with it for attention. I am glad you seem to ask and desire a real answer and not put the desired answer in the question.
I myself was RAISED a Xtian and grew up in a Preachers family. SO I finally saw the flaws in the Judeo/Xtian religion, but not everyone has the same background.
