Wiccan, why dont you try looking at LaVey satanism so you can see theyre not so diffe

this is how my satanist/Wicca relation ship works. and it works better than any other couple we know
they are life loving. about spiritual improvement. both practice magic. The two complete each other

Now I'm really not very deeply informed on either, just a grazing of the surface, but I've always had a particular problem with the satanists just because if you take any given religion and decide that it's incorrect or flawed or just delusional (as a whole lot of Christianity clearly is,) then that's one thing and you protest this and that aspect of it. or maybe you get a bad taste for it and grow distrustful of every last ounce of it like the atheists (which I think is an over-reaction). But to take Catholicism and decide that it's all true and we believe it all, but have made the decision to do what we're told not to and serve the opposite, is a ridiculous idea. on the other hand, that's not so far removed from how Christianity sprouted out of Judaism so, who am I to say...? it just seems to me like LeVey was sprouting up yet another little fashionable cult like Charlie Manson or Joe Smith or what's his name... David down in Waco. but I digress.

I had a first edition of the Satanic Bible, I got it the first month it was out. I've also studied Wicca quite extensively, they have practically nothing in common, starting with the fact that LaVeyan Satanism, at least as LaVey taught it, didn't believe in any actual Deity, God or Satan, which makes it diametrically opposed to the God and Goddess worship of Wicca.

I know a LeVayan Satanist and we have debated the contrasts and similarities in Heathenism and Satanism. They were fun conversations.

Wiccanism is a 75 year old Noe pagan religion created by Gerald Gardner that pulls in beliefs and rituals from MANY pagan religions and recognizes the Gods but has removed all of the violence from them even though many were extremely violent and bases itself around Druid and Witta practices.

LaVey satanism is based off the work of Aleister Crowly who was an agnostic and did not believe in the worship of Gods but believed the rituals and spells had power within themselves and developed a system from many many religions.

Lavey however was an Atheist and taught that you should do whatever you want because there are no Gods and no right and wrong, that right and wrong are only relative to what appears to be productive or counterproductive, feels good or hurts.

I have been in Satanic camps and participated in their rituals and I have been close friends with many Wiccans. I know first hand what satanism is. Satanists by FAR do not believe in not harming anything or anyone which is the end all of end Allis for Wiccans. And they do not believe in any Gods. The only similarities there are between Satanism and Wiccanism are the beliefs in the esoteric but Satanists more and more add practices of quantum physics as well.
