Default What are common beliefs you have about Satanism?

LaVeyan satanists do NOT worship Satan. Do some research before you talk.

Never met a follower personally and haven't bothered researching their beliefs yet.

I probably will later.

The flip side of the Christianity coin. To be perfectly honest, I find the religion equally silly in the belief that there are gods, so to speak, but I find the followers much more agreeable. I have yet to have a satanist knock on my front door and try to convert me or try to pass a law requiring me to adhere to their beliefs.

satanism is an ab sense of god. satanists goal is to be happy and enjoy their life. They are not concerned with doing for others but more for making themselves happy.

I know a guy who got mixed up in it a little. From what I understand, there's two basic types of Satanists. There's the spirit-worship types may be as much animistic as anything else, and then there's the I-hate-all-Christians types. My friend got mixed up with the first type, so I guess he was sort of lucky.

The only other generalized impression I've gotten is one of hedonism in many cases. Eat, drink, get blazed and get laid, for tomorrow we die. It's not so very different from non-Satanist hedonism, though. It just looks a little stranger when it's done in the context of a Satanist place of worship. That kind of scene tends to look creepy.

He is a giant beast, frozen mid-breast in ice at the center of Hell. Satan has three heads and affixed under each chin are pairs of bat-like wings. As Satan beats his wings, he creates a cold wind which continues to freeze the ice surrounding him, and the other sinners in the Hell. He is rather Trinitarian with each of his three mouths that chew on Judas, Brutus, and Cassius - the 3 biggest traitors in medieval Europe.

LeVayian Satanists are atheists. They hold self in highest esteem and do not worship not even believe in a Satan, Devil or God for that matter. They will not waste their love on those who hate them and will return a slap in the face with a slap in the face.

The one I know personally is spookier smart, highly motivated and socially minded.

Honestly, I have no idea. The naive beliefs I hold (no idea how true they are or if I'm mixing Satanism up with something else):

1. They worship Satan. No idea why.
2. They dance around cow skulls and flickering candles.
3. They use Satan's power (and his evil spirits) to build themselves, their finances, etc and attract followers.
4. They cast spells on people/ practice the occult.

Okay, numbers 2 and 4 are ones I definitely have no idea if I'm right or not; I'm probably mixing them up with some other religion.

Is the occult part of Satanism? Frankly, I'm scared to look at their websites so I'd rather not get those links. If you know more than I do about the truth about it, I'd love to be informed. Just send me an email.

I don't claim to know much about Satanism, but I can share what I do know.

Satanism is rooted in the idea of the supremacy of the individual and the ego. It recognizes that man is just another animal, and instead of focusing on spiritual ideals, it advocates that people should do what they feel like doing and live their lives the way they want to. It preaches indulgence over temperance, revenge over restraint, lust over abstinence, etc.

Although sacrifices are often associated with Satanism, very few practicing Satanists actually take part in such things. Rituals are a big part of the religion, and most of the rituals are "dark" counterparts to Christian/Catholic rituals like the Mass, etc.

They are probably not the beliefs of most. I've actually taken the time to read and learn about it. Most follow what I would call a hedonistic philosophy - finding pleasure in life. Satan is viewed often as a "cool" rebel or the anti-thesis of a cruel and malevolent God (the Demiurge - a concept from Gnosticism). Some groups express a lot of derision toward Christianity, others don't. Most practice some form of ritual magic. Satan isn't seen as evil by these groups. Most frown on gratuitous violence, harming children, or generally being a boil on the buns of society.

That being said, I do not personally consider their beliefs and practices benevolent nor do I recommend anyone take them up as a personal code of belief. There is real evil in the world. Those who like to believe in Satan the friend or brother should take heed of these words from an old Police hit:

"I will turn your face to alabaster, when you find your servant is your master!"

I read through the Satanist bible once, and then threw it away. It was absolutely the most repulsive thing I've ever read, and I'm not a squeamish person. Their "religious" ceremony consists of sexual acts committed upon an "altar", their communion wafer is composed of pus and feces, the communion wine is blood of a goat, etc. The idea is to be totally opposite of anything regarded as sacred and to mock the idea of God. I've never personally met anyone who believed in this.

?The true name of Satan, the Kabalists say, is that of Yahveh reversed; for Satan is not a black God, but the negation of God. The Devil is the personification of Atheism or Idolatry. For the Initiates, this is not a person, but a force, created for good, but which may serve for evil. It is the instrument of Liberty or free will. They represent this Force, which presides over the physical generation, under the mythological and horned form of the God Pan; thence the he-goat of the Sabbat, brother of the Ancient Serpent, and the light bearer or Phosphor, of which the poets have made the false Lucifer of the legend.?
- Albert Pike ?Morals and Dogma? Ancient and Accepted Rite of Free Masonry written and published in 1871. Plagiarized from Eliphas Levi's "History of Magic" published in 1860.

"Hate those that earn it, as you would love those that earn it, As Above, so below."
When the world is viewed with no set reality, the lies of society are revealed and the bonds of slavery, broken."
- Rev. Michael S. Margolin

"Judge not, that ye not be judged."
- Matthew 7:1 Jesus Christ

Welcome to The Sinagogue of Satan founded on 1-29-99. A religion based on the Ancient and Accepted Rite of Free Masonry?s definition of Satanism, as described in Albert Pike?s work ?Morals and Dogma?, from which the paragraph at the top of this page was taken. This religion is not based on those of the popular Satanists of our day, Hollywood or Christian propaganda, except for Aleister Crowley. His connection with the Freemasons and the fact we took our name from a short story in his book Konx om Pax, called ?Thien Tao; or, The Synagogue of Satan.? Cannot be denied nor can we deny being a by-product of the Thelemic family.

As members you have the right to believe in whatever you like as long as you don?t push your beliefs on others. The aim of this religion is the ultimate destruction of religions through the advancement of individual freedom and social responsibility. The philosophy of SoS undermines all existing religions including our own. Thus the SoS Philosophy is based on a paradox, much like the Tao.

By not having any set reality or belief you are not trapped by their rules, and are free to start making your own. This is freedom, the breaking away from the status quo, much like when Satan broke ranks from God and became the first revolutionist. It?s funny how governments promote god worship when most modern governments owe their existence to Freemasonry and revolution, the dream of freedom, the spirit of Satan. It?s no wonder governments and religions, actively partake in propaganda against Satanism for they truly fear being overthrown. As for America, Satanism is Americanism, for America supports freedom of religion in the same Masonic context that SoS does. Though certain religions in America attempt to combat this, our wonderful constitution, (written by Freemasons) prevents them from achieving their goals. Enslavement in any form religious or otherwise is un-American. Therefore I declare any and all religious groups that do not support freedom of religion, un-American. Also certain fads or movements that harass people for their personal choices such as hairstyle, piercing, sex, tattoos, music and much more are also un-American. Yes SoS reaches far past the United States boarders. And no, unlike my government, I?m not trying spread the American culture to other countries. But I am trying to spread the Light of Phosphor, the light of freedom throughout the world.

I obtained legal recognition for this mass manipulation scheme From the State of California and The Federal government of the United States of America, by utilizing my authority as an Ordained Minister of Universal Life Church Ministries (U.L.C.M). U.L.C.M., the Unitarians and the new Satanic unity movement, accept most faiths, but are predominately Christian or stylized Satanist in nature and actually exist to enslave you.

As you can clearly see, I learned a little bit from their game and used it to turn the tide in Satan's favor. Rather in your favor as consumers of prepackaged mail-order religions/realities. You can see although we are predominately Satanic/Thelemic/Masonic in nature SoS accepts all Religious Beliefs, Styles, Races, Cultures, Ideologies, Nationalities, Sexuality's etc. etc. As long as those that wish to join accept the premise that each individual has the undeniable right to his or her choice of reality no matter what you're personal religion or choice dictates. We do not try to sway you into accepting Atheism, Freemasonry, Satanism, or Thelemism, for that is not our aim or goal. Our aim and goal is freedom as it always will be.

We offer a system to surf realities/beliefs, as you will, without being engulfed, submersed, suppressed, or subservient to any of them including ours. We are a ?Free? Church in all the possible definitions of the word. And freedom is only found in the mind, for the physical world and its s
