Alot of atheists will admit it shouldn't be called its own religion and is more of a sect of a larger religion. To the point that atheists sometimes get a fended when you call them a religion because they are only a shrinking sect of satanism.
But atheism is still very prominent despite it shrinking so my question is:
Is it still the largest sect of satanism?
sol all you guys saying no its not do you mean is not the largest anymore?
No, Evangelical Protestants won that title from us in about 1908 and have grown to a point there is no catching them now. So we pulled out of Satanism long ago and left it to them. We are completely secular now.
PURE BUNQUE ! ! ! A true Atheist does not believe in God or the Devil. To ASSUME that someone who does not believe in God automatically worships Satan is the height of (unprintable).
Atheism isn't a sect of satanism. The two are antithetical. Atheists believe there is no God. Satan, while less than God in the eyes of most theists, would still be classified as a supernatural being and, at the very least in the eyes of Satanists, a deity. Atheists, like myself, do not believe Satan exists. We certainly don't worship him.
There are very few true Satanists out there. Most of the practicing Satanists are making a satirical point about religion and don't actually believe. That group are actually atheists and, I suppose, also a sect of Satanists, but it is a very very very small percentage of atheists and I'm sure the few true believers in Satanism (very few) would not consider the satirical sect to be true members.
Those, like myself, who say that atheism isn't a religion say that because there is no set of beliefs that codifies atheism, nor is there any sort of organization. It is the belief that there is no deity, regardless of your other beliefs and regardless of your actions. It is no more a religion than vegetarianism, maybe even less, since there is a code of conduct and morality and several large organizations devoted to vegetarianism. Atheists have different views on morality and conduct. The vast majority are moral upstanding people, but they get there morality from someplace other than religious doctrine (and as for where, that is up to the individual, it is not dictated, since it is not a religion).
An atheist is a person who does not believe in the existence of any deity. A satanist, I think, is a person who not only believes in but also worships Satan. So far as I know an atheist would also deny the existence of Satan, and therefore atheism cannot be described as a sect of Satanism.
Atheists would perhaps be offended if you described their beliefs as a religion, since " religions" believes in the existence of one or more gods.
If you mean this by an Xian standpoint, meaning "every religion that's not Abramo is Satanism". Then from that ignorant point of view, I would have to say yes.
Although this doesn't seem like a real question and I don't know what you're trying to learn from asking it, let me tell you a few things about Satanism;
* Satanism is not a Christian invention
* Satanism predates Christianity and all other religions
* Satanism is not about spooks, goblins, vampires, Halloween monsters or other related entities
* Satanism is not about "evil"
* Satanism is not an invention of, or a "reaction" to Christianity
* Satanism is not a creation of Anton LaVey
* Satanism is not about death
* True Satanism is about elevating and empowering humanity to reach equality with the Gods, which was our True Creator (Satan's) intention
