Is Satanism in a schism?

For hundreds of years Satanism has given the world many things, inspiration for great works of art, books, tales, stories, films and music for which I am very, very grateful

COS just hijacked all the Satanic Imagery and allure but offered nothing in return, apart from a current fashion trend.

I find it frankly sickening that this upstart of a church is so insensitive to it founder for which it owes everything.

I suggest that if COS and its followers wish to distance themselves from real Satanists, they should make the following changes:

1. Become Church of Atheism
2. Their bible should be renamed The Atheistic Bible
3. The goat-head inverted pentagram should be replaced by the atom of atheism

Satanism was there long long before LaVey and his "satanic" Hollywood buddies and it will be there long after this trend has passed

I guess you don't like LaVeyan's huh? Like I said in my last answer there are no "real" Satanists. You don't have a copyright on anything in your religion. And it isn't atheism. They believe in self-worship. So like they themselves are the gods of their own universe. Makes some sense if you'd come look at it when you aren't up on that high horse of yours.

I agree. I've noticed that LaVeyan-followers call themselves "satanists" but in reality they're just pomp-and-circumstance loving atheists.
