A Religious question, that includes all religion except Wiccan and Satanism... I thin
If absolute power, corrupts absolutely, then what is God exactly?
I didn't say that u couldn't answer. U can. besides I put GOD, one god. I know that Wiccan Harv more than one god, so it will be grammatically incorrect. But go ahead.
Why the heck does this apply to all religions except Wicca and Satanism? Do you think we don't have gods? Or do you think every other religion in the world only has one god?
Personally, I think the assumption that absolute power corrupts absolutely is deeply flawed.
Since God is the one who brought space, time, and matter into existence, the concept of causality does not apply to God since it is something related to the reality of space, time, and matter. Since God is before space, time, and matter, the issue of causality does not apply to Him. therefore that does not apply to Him
I think what you meant was that non-Monotheist like Pagans, Pantheists, etc would not consider godhood as dangerous because we do not believe in one god of everything. I think some of us still consider that kind of power dangerous in any "hands".
You may want to look into Gnosticism.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gnostics
The Gnostics were an Abrahamic sect of Jews and early Christians who believed that God was evil and or crazy and should be feared. They were mostly wiped out by Early Christians with their "loving" ways.
Another problem of omnipotence is that God must be capable of (and the origin of) all evil. Thus God himself is as completely evil as he is completely good. He is, also, by this definition, completely indifferent, since in order to express any interest in human affairs, he must favor all plausible points of view. Thus moral relativism is inevitable even in the presence of an omnipotent creator. In order to introduce the yardsticks of morality for which we so often turn to religion, and for which religions were, it is likely, conceived, we are forced to revert to polytheism. Thus Christianity introduces the Devil.
Wiccan is a practice not a religion. Personally i prefer the ancient ways of the craft but i also respect other peoples pagan beliefs. Incidently You don't actually get to tell people if they can answer or not. It's a questions and answers forum so everyone can answer that wishes too. Yes absolute power does corrupt or at least the people who like to think they have it do, as does religion.
