Default Books on Theistic Satanism?

I am doing a study of Satanism, somewhat to poke holes in it, but mostly to understand it so I can stop thinking of it's followers as either creepy or selfish jerks. As of right now I am reading the Satanic bible by Levay but I want to also pick up the definitive text on theistic Satanism, if any exists, I also have the Lucifairn's main text as I am looking at all those left-hand paths in an effort to not think so lowly of their followers. Before people begin to jump on this by saying that it is an 'evil' thing to look into, I would like state that I am NOT a satanist nor would I become one. I am more Wiccan than anything else, I am just trying to understand something that baffles me.

There is no "main text" for either Theistic Satanism or Luciferianism. Whatever text you're looking at for Luciferianism is only authoritative for the Luciferian sect that wrote it. If you want general info on Theistic Satanism, you should look at Diane Vera's Theistic Satanism website: http://www.theisticsatanism.com/ I'm sure she has some book suggestions.

There's not a whole lot in the way of "definitive texts" on Theistic Satanism, because they tend to be smaller, less publicized groups and none are so prominent as to stand out from the others.

However there are some which get around more than others. Like the Complete Book of Demonolatry. Some people count the Setians as "theistic Satanists" (though I think that is misapplying the term, personally) so the on line documents the Temple of Set released might be useful. Books by the ONA tend to receive a lot of attention as well.

Also, here's a link: http://www.angelfire.com/rings/blacklotusmonastery/lhptexts.html Though beware downloading copyrighted material.

It is very difficult to summarize the Satanism. Mainly they balance good and evil.
Che ch out Venus Satan's on you tube, and Theistic Satanism (Diane Vera).
JoS is fanatical...
We follow: find the truth in what you heard. Rarely someones adopts only one church...
On Church of Azazel (Diane Vera) you could find that they are going to launch partnership with Wicca to balance light and dark...
P.S. I hope you learn it well we could really use worthy opponent right about now

I don't really get it,you read LaVey's "Satanic bible" and call them creepy and selfish,LaVey's satanism = atheism .Most people confuse the word Satanism with devil worshiping. The words are today used in a synonymous way, but this is actually a mistake. Or perhaps the misuse of this term is because it seems to refer to Satan, the evil force of Christianity. But this is simply not the case. Satanism and devil worshiping are not related.

Devil worshiping is a religion (actually a part of Christianity), based on the worship of the evil force of Christianity; Satan. In doing this, a devil worshiper worships evil. And, to be a devil worshiper, you have to believe in Christianity, or at least part of the Christian teaching. But you have to be religious and believe in the supernatural in order to worship the devil (it makes no seance to first claim that you are an atheist, and then claim that you worship Satan!). You have to have faith, in short.

Satanism has nothing to do with this. The philosophy of Satanism started as a movement against the tyranny of the Christian church. The Satanists turned crosses up side down, read psalms backwards, etc, in order to show the world their dissociate with Christianity. Later on, it has developed into a form of philosophy, using Satan as a symbol of anti-Christianity. This philosophy is more positive to the individual, and the life right here and now. It also has a different view on moral, and focus more on the individual instead of being a servant of a god. Hence, a Satanist can be a atheist (and I think that Satanism works best combined with atheism), but in order to be a devil worshiper, you have to have faith and believe in the supernatural.

A modern form of Satanism believes in the supernatural, magic and "unearthly" creatures. For example, in the Satanic Bible (written by LaVey, and a common book among modern Satanists), magic and rituals are described. This book is actually... quite silly, since it first seems to be agnostic, and then in the end tells you how to use magic! But this modern version is not the original version of Satanism.

Devil worshiping worships an evil force and violence. But a Satanist does not have to be evil. The sheer belief of a Satanist does not make him evil. Unless your definition of evil means that you do not believe in the Christianity. But the time when Christianity had monopoly on moral is long gone!

If you read LaVey's bible than you will not learn nothing new besides magic and you as your own god,and nothing about those real satanists who worships devil. It's like atheism.
