Why do some Christians believes that when someone has universalism views, they include Satanism and other evil religions?
I was born into the Catholic faith, and I remain a Catholic, I believe in God, I believe Jesus is the son of God, I believe that Jesus is our savior and he died for our sins, I believe that Jesus died for everyone, even non-Christians, he preached and inspired millions to live better lives, he preached about love, kindness and equality, I have adopted universalism into my life, that God's love is unconditional, that all humans can be saved through Jesus and eventually come to harmony in God's kingdom, that God will redeem, restore and transform all people through Jesus, despite being a Jew, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, etc...
These quotations were taken from "All Men Are Brothers: Life and Thoughts of Mahatma Gandhi As Told in His Own Words";
"How can I even secretly harbor the thought that my neighbor's faith is inferior to mine and wish that he should give up his faith and embrace mine? As a true and loyal friend, I can only wish and pray that he may live and grow perfect in his own faith. In God's house there are many mansions and they are equally holy."
"Religions are different roads converging to the same point. What does it matter that we take different road, so long as we reach the same goal."
When we speak of "religions are different roads converging to the same point", this doesn't include religions like Satanism and other evil religions that practice human sacrifice, because if you read the other quote, it says, "in God's house there are many mansions and they are equally holy", how can something as evil as Satanism and human sacrifice have a place in God's house and how can it be equally holy?
The idea of some Christians that Jesus would judge and condemn other religions doesn't fit with the teachings of Jesus that was taught in the Sermon on the Mount;
Luke 6:31: Do to others as you want them to do to you.
Mark 12:31: Love your neighbor as yourself.
Luke 6:37: Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.
Jesus tells us not to treat people in a way you would not wish to be treated yourself, in a lot of cases, some Christians do not follow this, for example, if you don't want someone to belittle your Christian faith, then you yourself shouldn't belittle other people's faith, I don't think Jesus would belittle other religions, Jesus tells us to love and respect your neighbor or someone different from you, in color, race, religion, etc, how is belittling other people's faith loving and respecting your neighbor? Jesus tells us never to judge and condemn, but to judge and condemn righteously, how is belittling other people's faith judging and condemning righteously? I do not think that it is righteous to judge and condemn a religion that teaches ethics, good acts of kindness, morality, values, love, family values, etc, whether it's Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, etc, but if that religion teaches evil and have wicked practices, I judge and condemn it...
@OkamiHAH - yes, I believe that atheists will eventually come to harmony in God's kingdom, despite their disbelief...
