Is it ok to be christian, but intrested in satanism?
i dint mean i want to be a satanic, i just think it interesting. I mean, I'm a Lutheran who goes to church every Sunday, believes in god, etc...
but i listen to metal, which is pretty much "satanic music". i like the pentagram because it just looks cool. i like things that are scary and creepy, which are a lot of the demons in satanism. I'm just afraid to learn more because i already feel horrible for listening to satanic songs and liking the pentagram, i dint feel like its right for a christian to get into the "opposing religion".
am i just over reacting or will god forgive me and understand? christian answers only please cause other religions tend to try to get me to stop being christian... which is just pathetic
also, is there any philosophical view in which u believe in god, but think the world is chaos, bad, life is a pain... stuff like that?
Oh and satanism isn't the worship of Satan by the way its the worship of oneself.
And there are blend of religious metal bands, like the devil wears Prado, august burns red etc. And besides just because your interested in something doesn't mean you belong or believe in it.

Sure, they believe all kinds of different wacky stuff. You didn't think Christians all believed the same thing, did you? Some don't even believe in hell. That's a BIG difference.
I used to be a really dark person. I felt very disgusted with myself. I would pray about it. My sister introduced me to a Christian station. Just by listening to Christian music it changed my life. Little habits help you to get out of it. Because being into darkness won't solve anything and just make life really miserable. I listen to 100.1 k-love, but it doesn't work at some places. I listen to Christian music every morning to get my day started and it really energizes me. Then I try to read one chapter in Proverbs everyday. Praying everyday works like magic. The more you want God in your life and you seek it, the more the Holy Spirit can work in you. I can really respect you for asking CZ some people don't care but that shows you do! Hope that helps!

It's not bad per say, but its not good for the soul. Didn't God say it is better to consider and ponder the good things He gives to seek Him, rather than the bad things of this world? I could see it if you were planning on witnessing to Satanists, but just for fun? I think you are delving into an area that some day you might not be able to pries yourself out of, and will wish you could. People get lost going where you are quite easily. So, no, you are not overreacting.
Lots of young people are obsessed with vampires, dark things, Satanism, demons, general evil nowadays. Doesn't make it right. (Consider the popular vampire series was created by a Mormon, a member of a cult.) Ponder the ramifications of these things toward the future of society.
Will God forgive you? Will He "understand"?? Not if you care more about what Satan is doing rather than what God can do in your life. Why don't you ask HIM that question? God.

To be brutally honest with you; and Yes, I FIRMLY believe that I would be doing you and your so-called salvation a SEVERE DISSERVICE if I were to hold back.....
NO. God will not 'understand', as you understand understanding. Do you understand?
YES, He will forgive you; but you are missing the entire point here, my friend. Let me see if I can convey this in a way that will help you see the obvious answers before you:
Have you ever considered that you might be a False Convert? Or that, perhaps you are only involved with church attendance due to societal factors (being raised to attend faithfully, family and friends claim Christ, etc...)? You have to, and I mean this with so much concern, love and brutal truth; you have to EXAMINE YOUR HEART, and ask yourself if you really understand WHO Jesus was and IS; WHY He came to die on our behalf, and what it means to "pick up your cross and carry it daily; dying to SELF"?
The thing is this...IF you truly were born again, you would have a lesser and lesser desire to gravitate towards those things you listed. You would grow and show improvement all the time, you would learn to TRULY LOVE that which the Father YHVH (God) loves; and Hate (despise) that which HE despises.
That is how this whole Christianity thing works, I'm afraid. You must choose whether you are going to serve this temporal soul encasement; this mortal coil aka the Flesh. OR--You must choose to serve God and allow the Holy Spirit to work out in you that continuous act of lifelong Sanctification.
If none of the above seems clear to you; then my last effort to convey the seriousness of Life in Christ to you would be to REMIND YOU that it literally hurts the heart of God, when we ride the fence and do not give ourselves over wholeheartedly unto Him and His will; to His command to be a witness and preach the Good News of the salvation we have by Christ Yeshua.
YHVH does not play games; and while He is forgiving; He will not allow His Word to return unto Him void. You either choose HIM or you choose Selfishness, Sin and The World and it's unholy desires.
This life is swift; passing away; mortal and a vapor. This temporal world is as a trash heap compared to how insanely amazing it is to make Christ Yeshua and His Will the center of your thought-life, and actions.
You must choose, brother. You really must choose: Holy obedience or a lover of the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh and the pride of life.
Please begin to take your salvation seriously. God does not want you dig gin' on the filth that you are being drawn to.
I don't mean to be rude, but... Are you actually a Christian, or do you just go to church? There's a difference between 1) thinking God's real (and going to church) and 2) actually believing that Jesus died for your sins and being forgiven and changed by the grace of God.
No one genre of music is anymore satanic than another. The content, sure, but the instruments don't mean anything. If you like the beat, though, there's some great Christian metal out there.
You following Satan means that you're not following God. You think God would understand you pursuing another god instead?
I believe that the world sucks because we as people suck. My sin causes other people pain. Your sin causes other people's pain. Sin causes pain. I believe that Satan uses our sin nature to make this world chaotic and painful and terrible (is he not the ruler of this world?), but that God uses (though he does not cause) all of those bad things to bring people back to Himself.
