The religion I guess you could say, I don't understand it much do they believe in the devil as the higher being like Christians believe Jesus is? Do they worship the devil or what? Detailed but simple answers are welcomed.
I asked this a while ago no one answered.
I'm asking the meaning of it no lecture or anything to believe in it. I am not a Satanist I am wanting to know want it means because I'm unsure of it.
Theistic or Le Veyan both actually if you could explain.
Most satanists are atheistic, meaning they don't believe in the Devil or God. They really stress individuality and being yourself no matter what it looks like to other people. Hence the "satanist" tag, as sort of a counterculture to the typical Christianity. <-- That's LaVeyan, BTW.
There are some theistic satanists... That's when it gets confusing, and even I don't understand it.
Satanists do not necessarily worship Satan as a godlike figure. They believe in him as a force of nature or as an energy. They believe that his energy is neither good nor bad, but good and evil lie in the way his energy is used.
most Sandinista dint believe in satin. they re son that they have satin in the name is that they believe in an eye for eye morality and believe in self indulgence
No fawning "worship" involved. Consider it admiration for a being we feel represents Freedom of thought and action...

You can find some Satanic philosophy at these two sites. It would be much better for you to research these matters yourself instead of listening to propaganda.
You've got some really good answers here. LaVeyan Satanism, as others have stated, is a strain of Satanism that is atheistic, in the sense that LaVeyan Satanists don't believe in supernatural beings like God or Satan, and instead choose to use Satan as a symbol for the "true" carnal nature of mankind. They believe in selfishness and an eye for an eye morality, and some believe in magic as a super normal force that can influence the outside world. The Church of Satan is the most prominent LaVeyan organization, and is the original organization founded by Anton LaVey in 1969. There are other groups which claim to be the "true" representatives of LaVey (like the First Church of Satan run by LaVey's daughter Karla LaVey), and other groups which are influenced by LaVeyan beliefs.
Theistic Satanists (sometimes called Traditional or Spiritual Satanists) believe in Satan as an actual supernatural being, who they worship. Ideas and beliefs about Satan vary within the Theistic Satanist community, with some seeing Satan as a Christianized version of some ancient god (usually Pan, Set, or Enki), some seeing Satan as a divine, pantheistic All, and still others as other things. Diane Vera has a list of various strains of Theistic Satanism here: http://theisticsatanism.com/varieties/index.html The Joy of Satan is probably the largest Theistic Satanist group. Setianism, the religion propounded by the Temple of Set, is also technically in this category, although there are some Setians who don't like to be called Satanists.
NB: Luciferianism is the worship or veneration of Lucifer, as either a supernatural being or as a symbol. Some Luciferians do worship Satan, but others are vehement in their belief that Lucifer is not Satan (Lucifer being, instead, a god of light and knowledge, a more positive image, in their opinion, than Satan), so it's best to separate Luciferianism from Satanism.
This excerpt quote from the Catholic Encyclopedia is very revealing:
In the same way the Greeks and Romans may have worshiped their divinities, fondly believing them to be good. But the Christian Scriptures declare that all the gods of the Gentiles are demons.

The Origins of Satanism
Satanism is not a Christian invention
Satanism predates Christianity and all other religions
Satanism is not about spooks, goblins, vampires, Halloween monsters or other related entities
Satanism is not about "evil"
Satanism is not an invention of, or a "reaction" to Christianity
Satanism is not a creation of Anton LaVey
Satanism is not about death
True Satanism is about elevating and empowering humanity to reach equality with the Gods, which was our True Creator (Satan's) intention
"IN THE SECRET OF MY KNOWLEDGE THERE IS NO GOD BUT ME"
-SATAN
From "Peace Be Unto Him"
The original religions now known as "Satanism" (by the way, "Satan" means "enemy" in Hebrew), were all based upon what is known as the "Magnum Opus" or Great Work. The one known as "Satan" is our True Creator God. He was prevented by the other Gods from finishing his work on humanity, that of the godhead. The godhead is physical and spiritual perfection. Now, if you continue to read on, I will prove this.
The serpent is seen everywhere in ancient relics and structures. The serpent was held sacred in all areas of the ancient world. Satan is the God Ea, aka ENKI, one of the first of the Nephilim to arrive on this planet and establish the first civilization. In Sumerian mythology, Enki's symbol was always the serpent.
The serpent represents the DNA, the life force and the kindling and has survived as the emblem of the American Medical Association and Veterinary medicine, where it is symbolic of life and healing. Only with the coming of Judeo/Christianity, has this sacred symbol been desecrated and blasphemed.
Nearly all of us are familiar with the term "fallen." This word has been used copiously by Christian clergy to refer to Satan and his Demons. In truth, "fallen" pertains to the kindling serpent (which has always been associated with our Creator God Satan), which has fallen in humanity as a whole and now lies dormant at the base of the spine. Because of this, humanity as a whole is on a very low level of spiritual understanding. Thoughtless abuses of children and animals, senseless wars, brutality and endless corruption are the results of the fallen serpent. The "Tree of Life" which was stolen from the ancient Pagan religions and found its way into the biblical book of Genesis, was seen in many parts of the ancient world.
