Can someone tell me what exactly is scientology and do they believe in aliens?

I read in the newspaper that Katie Holmes and Tome Cruises child will believe in a powerful alien that has trapped human souls within his magnetic belt?!?! Whats this all about or the background?
They also said that this will be the first child born into Scientology and after a few years following 'rules' of Scientology the child will have a Brian power so strong that the child will be able to burn/bend teaspoons.

They believe that crab ghosts from another world are inside them. And they got this from a SCIENCE FICTION WRITER. Cruise and his friends show their intelligence by following a made up religion, I am sure the L Ron Hubbard (the guy who made it up) is laughing his butt off in the alien spaceship right now. L Ron Hubbard wrote a bunch of books called Dianetics, if you read them you ll get the whole picture.

I think that's a bit far fetched!
I dint know what they believe in, i keep hearing stories that Scientology was invented as a tax evasion scam.
I dint think anybody here in the UK is that interested in it, we have enough strange religions & cults, like Big Brother ha ha ha! (Joke!)

A load of rubbish to do with everything other than God, and they call it religion. I think it has something to do with having to much money and nothing to spend it on?

its a bunch of crap. some believe in aliens some dint, depends on the individual. but i did recently see a show on the discovery channel that showed where our government finally admitted to finding a spacecraft a few years ago and they have been trying to figure out what it is made out of and how it works and all that. it showed where they figured out how to use the cloaking device, but so far that is it. it showed the inside and outside of the ship in full detail.

Scientology includes brainwashing and an attempt, over a period of time, to mentally break a person down, to extract regular amounts of money from them, using lots of fiction.

It's dangerous nonsense and one shouldn't get involved with it.

Rolling Stone had a really great article about Scientology. very specific and informing. it's really long, but definitely worth the read. it'll tell you everything you could ever want to know about them.
