Default Should Scientology be a concern to society or not?

Is it possible for this seemingly innocent, yet strange, belief system to cause harm to it's members? This is not a question meant to be intolerant of another religion, they can, of course, believe whatever they want. So, basically the question is, should we care that people are falling victim to those who run the church or just let them be since it claims to be a religion and people should know what they were getting into anyway?

----------
Just some background info for anyone who isn't familiar with the church and its shadier details:
Even if you are familiar with Scientology, you may want to watch this video (some autopsy photos but does warn you first):

Just for extra info, here's an Penthouse interview (no nudity just a cover shot of the magazine) with L. Ron Jr:

I didn't watch the whole thing and i dint know much about Scientology, so this next sentence may be ridiculous but here goes. Who's to say that that's true, and not made up by someone who doesn't really know.

I'm not agreeing or disagreeing and i really should find out more before saying that, but from what i saw, and what i know, that's what I'm sticking to.

If it is true, however...i don't know....there are other harmful religions out there...

Reminds me of some of the fundamentalist groups out there as well, Jim Jones, David Koresh ET AL, and sadly, its going on every day throughout the Christian world.

Well, I don't know that much about Scientology, but I dare say that there are weirder religions than that one. There aren't that many cytologistsST's consider them dangerous or anything - and since they don't force anyone to join them, I say let them enjoy their belief system. Live and let live.

It depends if more celebs get involved in the movement because there are way to many people who treat them like hods.

No, not at all. What the video showed is a kind of cult, not the en ire religion.

The truth is every religion has these cults. They con cider them selves above their own religion; otherwise called a special group. Ussually these groups are a secret society, however they have been showing up recently. Every major religion has a huge legal team.

The truth is you can find these cults in every major religion and they usually are protected by their religion. Ussually these cults protect secrets of their religion; and we all know every religion has their secrets.

I think that Scientology is a HUGE concern to us! They use techniques which could potentially brainwash innocent and sane people into their belief system, and have a massive annual income, which is kept completely private. They are a cult, through and through, and I don't know what proves that more than the fact that as soon as an anti-cult watch group said they were, Scientology BROUGHT the entire group, and now maintains it in such a way that it's one of the main cult-watch groups around, but completely pro-Scientology. That's concerning, and shows that they are, technically, trying to take away our right to free speech!
