Scientology is a religion of worshiping self in order to maximize life for selfish ends. It was invented way more than 2000 years ago. It began with the first sin to "become like god".

people will believe anything that gives them a false sense of hope and lets them think they are blameless for any wrong doings in the world.

According to *"the word Scientology literally means "the study of truth." (As describe by Scientolist) It comes from the Latin word "sci" meaning "knowing in the fullest sense of the word" and the Greek word "logos" meaning "study of."
Scientology is the study and handling of the spirit in relationship to itself, others and all of life. The Scientology religion comprises a body of knowledge extending from certain fundamental truths. Prime among these:"
"Man is an immortal, spiritual being. His experience extends well beyond a single lifetime. His capabilities are unlimited, even if not presently realized ? and those capabilities can be realized. He is able to not only solve his own problems, accomplish his goals and gain lasting happiness, but also achieve new, higher states of awareness and ability."
"In Scientology no one is asked to accept anything as belief or on faith. That which is true for you is what you have observed to be true. An individual discovers for himself that Scientology works by personally applying its principles and observing or experiencing results."

Is "Scientology" a Bible teaching?
First of all, it is interesting to note that according to "Scientology", it literally means: "the study of truth."!
With all honesty, with the study of this "truth", does it leads someone to reconsider the Bible's truth, as made mention by Jesus? John 15:26 reads: "When the helper arrives that I will send YOU from the Father, the spirit of the truth, which proceeds from the Father, that one will bear witness about me" However, according to Scientology it refer ed this "truth" as the study and handling of the spirit in relationship to itself, others and all of life.) Yet, it fails to acknowledge the giver of life, our Grand Instructour, Jehovah-God! (Ps.83:18)

What does the Bible say about our Grand Instructour and of truth?: The Hebrew term ?Emmet?, often rendered ?truth,? may designate that which is firm, trustworthy, stable, faithful, true, or established as fact. The Greek word a?Le?thei?a stands in contrast with falsehood or unrighteousness and denotes that which conforms to fact or to what is right and proper.

Jehovah is ?the God of truth.? (Ps 31:5) He is faithful in all his dealings. His promises are sure, for he cannot lie. (Nu 23:19; 1Sa 15:29; Ps 89:35; Tit 1:2; Heb 6:17,?18) He judges according to truth, that is, according to the way things really are, and not on the basis of outward appearance. (Ro 2:2; compare Joh 7:24.) Everything that emanates from him is pure and without defect. His judicial decisions, law, commandments, and word are truth. (Ne 9:13; Ps 19:9; 119:142, 151, 160) They are always right and proper, and they stand in opposition to all unrighteousness and error.

What about his Son, Jesus Christ? And what is the meaning of the statement that Jesus Christ is himself ?the truth??
Like his Father Jehovah, Jesus Christ is ?full of undeserved kindness and truth.? (Joh 1:14; Eph 4:21) While on earth, he always spoke the truth as he had received it from his Father. (Joh 8:40, 45,?46) ?He committed no sin, nor was deception found in his mouth.? (1Pe 2:22)
Jesus represented things as they really were. Besides being ?full of truth,? Jesus was himself ?the truth,? and truth came through him. He declared: ?I am the way and the truth and the life.? (Joh 14:6) And the apostle John wrote: ?The Law was given through Moses, the undeserved kindness and the truth came to be through Jesus Christ.??Joh 1:17.

How are we to uptain this truth today? God?s Word Is Truth:

God?s Word presents things as they really are, revealing Jehovah?s attributes, purposes, and commands, as well as the true state of affairs among mankind. God?s Word of truth shows what is required for one to be sanctified or made holy, set apart for use by Jehovah in his service, and then to remain in a sanctified state.
Hence, Jesus could pray respecting his followers: ?Sanctify them by means of the truth; your word is truth.? (Joh 17:17; compare Jas 1:18.) Their obedience to the revealed truth of God?s Word led them into sanctification, the truth being the means by which they purified their souls. (1Pe 1:22) Thus they stood out as ?no part of the world? that did not adhere to God?s truth.?Joh 17:16.

How are we to accept such truth? ?Walking in the Truth.?:

According to the Bible ?Walking in the Truth.? Those who desire to gain God?s approval should walk in his truth and serve him in truth. (Jos 24:14; 1Sa 12:24; Ps 25:4,?5; 26:3-6; 43:3; 86:11; Isa 38:3) This would include abiding by God?s requirements and serving him in faithfulness and sincerity.

This is what Christianity means: Christianity is ?the way of the truth? (2Pe 2:2), and those who assist others in furthering the interests of Christianity become ?fellow workers in the truth.? (3Jo 8) The entire body of Christian teachings, which later became part of the written Word of God, is ?the truth? or ?the truth of the good news.? Adherence to this truth, ?walking? in it, is essential if an individual is to gain salvation. (Ro 2:8; 2Co 4:2; Eph 1:13; 1Ti 2:4; 2Ti 4:4; Tit 1:1,?14; Heb 10:26; 2Jo 1-4; 3Jo 3,?4)

Interesting question, but not based on any actual understanding.
The religious philosophy and purpose of Scientology is a lot older than
2000 years. It's roots go back at least 10,000 years to the oldest recorded religious writings or knowledge. I am referring to The Veda or Vedic Hymns from the East which contain the same knowledge or sacred lore that is found in Scientology. The only difference is that more has been discovered about this and a workable way or bridge has been developed for those who want to increase their spiritual awareness and freedom.
Spiritual salvation and freedom is the underlying purpose of all religions. An understanding of our true nature and our relationship to the physical universe.

I am guessing that the ask er of this question does not actually know what Scientology is, but has some other purpose with this question i.e. to invalidate Christianity (and also Scientology).

Here are some facts about what Scientology actually is for anyone who wants to know:

Scientology is an applied religious philosophy. When I say "applied" I mean you actually use it in your life to change or improve existing conditions. This is different from a religious practice. All religions if you learn about them have a basic philosophy, but they also have certain dogma, rituals and observances, and a certain faith or belief is required. There is nothing wrong with this, but Scientology is not that kind of religion. It does not intrude on any ones faiths of beliefs particularly in the area of God , the Supreme Being, or the Infinite. This area is left totally up to the individual, which is why you can be a practicing Jew or Atheist, for example and still use and apply the principles of Scientology in your life. It does not conflict. If anything it will enhance your understanding of your chosen religious practice.
And it is only true for you according to your own observation and experience with it.
It is a non denominational religion . The dictionary definition that applies:
Religion: The spiritual or emotional attitude of one who recognizes the existence of superhuman power or powers.

The most basic principle of Scientology is that YOU are your own immortal soul, that this is not a "thing" you HAVE but what YOU actually are.
The whole purpose of Scientology is to increase an individuals understanding and awareness of himself. And thereby his native abilities .
When you do this the sphere and zone of his positive influence increases and moves outward into his life, his family ,his friends, his groups and mankind which he is part of.

How this result is achieved is the "technology" of Scientology, which was developed by L.Ron Hubbard after his extensive research and the discoveries he made, about the human spirit.
He completed his research before his death in 1986 and left all of his results and copyrights
to the Church of Scientology along with most of his considerable estate., when he died.

He published a book in 1951 to communicate the basic principles he discovered called: " Scientology The Fundementals of Thought"
There are currently over 8 million Scientologists in more that 150 countries world wide. However we are a new religion, only 55 years old.
The true story of Scientology as a religion goes like this:
1. A philosopher developes a philosophy about life and death.
2. People find it interesting.
3. People find it works.
4. People pass it along to others.
5. It grows.
