anything can be called a religion if enough people follow it.
It's made up by Hubbard no long ago and about aliens and being gods of other planets. he made a lot of money from this. religion isn't about making money. It's about worshiping the Lord, the true Lord, and helping others.
First of all, it's based of a science-fiction book written-not-so-long-ago by an old coot who, himself, claimed that the fastest way to get rich is by starting a religion.
The only reason that it's classified as a faith (here in the U.S. at least) is due to the First Amendment: the right to have freedom of speech, assembly, and, in this case, belief/religion.
It is made up. The founder wrote the story of it as a Fictional Novel!! People started believing it, so he went with that and made tons of money. It spread like the disease it is. It is classified as a religion because in the US there is freedom of religion. If people are foolish enough to give them their hard earned money and their trust, it's their own issue. People can be idiots...
It was developed by a Science Fiction writer L. Ron Hubbard in support of his fictional stories. As a lark, he wanted to find out just how gullible and stupid people are and started marketing Scientology as a legitimate religion.
OK, so basically you're saying everything classified as a religion is by default, true. Well, Now, you have a bloody mess of contradictions. Aside from that, everyone has the right to call religions whatever they want.
Basically it's something new to a lot of people and they don't know much about it. I worked with 6 people who below to Scientology; just let me say, I have nothing against a person's religion, I respect that! But do not shove it in my face and down my throat, especially when I've told you that I'm not interested. And these 6 people did not understand the word NO or I'm not interested what so ever. I just meant 4 other people that belong to Scientology as well and they were the same way. I went out to California for 3 weeks to visit my cousin. Her friend and husband belong to Scientology as well and they did the same thing. Like all the others they were telling me that I was wrong in my belief and my religion is wrong and I'm going to hell. My cousin asked them to leave because they were being rude once again.
I'm sure that their not all that way, but when a person says, No thank you I'm not interested and I have my own religion, then leave it alone. Don't keep nagging at them all the time. Have respect for others who may not want to get involved in another religion we all have that right. I'm not saying that your this way, I don't even know you, but the ones that I do know and people that I know who are related or friends with people in Scientology all said the same thing, why don't they take no I'm not interested for any answer?"
By the way I mean absolutely no disrespect what so ever, this is the experience that a lot of us have had...it's not good! And that can be a turn off as well!
