Default Does Scientology have a copyright law around it?

I am thinking about writing a movie based on the Dianetics. I'm not a Scientologist but I sure do think the Dianetics would make a great movie.

That has been done a couple of times already by the "church" of Scientology.

Of Course !. All publications, names, symbols etc of the Scientology religion, of which Dianetics is a part, are fully trademarked and protected by international copyright laws.

There is already a 2 hr instructional DVD available, released in 2009, by the Church of Scientology on the subject of Dianetics. And you're right it is "a great movie" !
There are several other movies made and shown for free at your local Church or Mission of Scientology
covering the history behind the original book and it's release and results of it's use.

The books, symbols and technology are copyrighted. The trademarks and service marks are owned by the Religious Technology Center.

"Trademarks:
The following are trademarks and service marks owned by Religious Technology Center, Los Angeles, California, USA. These marks are licensed for use by the Church of Scientology International and its affiliated organizations and have been registered in many countries in the world."

Edit:
BTW, the DVD ThetaAlways mentions so thoroughly covers what's in the book, that you can use it with a partner to try it out right away, to see for yourself if it works. It is very well done. Google it (the only link I have leads to where you can buy it so I can't post it here).

ABSOLUTELY. YES.

The current leader of Scientology would probably have you harassed and would, no doubt, sue your ass off.

I prefer the billboard from the 80's movie, "Repo Man", where the poster reads "Diuretics".

See the May 1991 Times article and you may want to change that movie idea.

$Scientology surrounds itself with copyright law because it is a business and not a religion. Does Christianity or Islam purvey such nonsense? Do they charge you for services? Such things add a pathetic, tacky edge to $$Scientology that make it oh so obviously not here to help, just here to rake in the cash. And no diabetics would not make a great movie. Diarrhea would be a better film subject though.
