Default Scientology members only please. Your church can benefits people greatly, but can you

... can you explain why there are many reports of abuse or claims that also peoples lives have been ruined?

I'm curious to see what you have to say before exploring the tools you provide for psychosomatic ills

Haw! Really? Nobody takes Scientology seriously. I wish everybody would see other religion in that aspect. It's all complete BS.

Scientology is a cult of abuse and money. Hey, no different than some governments.

I'll try to give you a real answer. I cant do the whole thing. Too much detail and it really would take a sit down discussion to clarify everything.
Heres what i got for you:

First off, I am a 20 year Scientologist. Not a dabbler. Further I understand the question (assuming its an honest one)

1) Recognize that without the full info of whatever happened, you re only getting part of the story.
2) realize that the media never prints stories of "bunnies and kitties getting along" - they want controversy as that's what sells - all too often way-embellished.

3) I have seen the same stories and do not discredit 100% of them. I know personally that much of it has been embellished/distorted etc - OK. Whatever.

4) Scientology is not some kind of cutesy, "lets-play-around-and-see if-we-can-make-people-chuckle" kinda endeavor. Its a heavy topic and deals with serious matters intimate to ones personal well being. IF it were a knitting club, who would care? Its not. So when things occasionally go wrong due to someones wrong application, it tends to hurt a lot more. And things do go wrong sometimes. Of course threes never the intent of hurting someone.

5) Keep in mind that big upsets happen in all religions (as religion is a 4-letter word that is connected to hotter emotions often). You just hear about it more when its Scn, as Scn is something "different" - and different things get attacked.
6) Heres an intresting point. I was one of those people that was kicked out. im back in. I could be clamoring up and down and crying and wailing about "you ruined my life" - Im not. I did what i did that got me into trouble and dont disagree. nevermind the details, the point is this: Im back in good standing and actively recieving the services that remove psychosomatic ills , as you mentioned.
Why would a guy do that? If anyone had a reason to give Scn the finger and jump on the Jerry Springer bandwagon against it, it would be me. But I know from adequate experience with it what it does and is capable of.
______________-
Look, there are parts that I dont like. yeah, so what? its not perfect - but it gets the job done. Unfortunately, less-than-adequately trained people being entrusted with technology that has power and kick and which is intimate to you, your mind, thoughts and reactions can backfire tremendously if carelessly applied or wrongly applied.

7) Some of these people clamoring arent much different than the guy who you step on their toe and they scream bloody murder.

8) One of the biggest points that people just dont get is that there are other groups who sincerely want to see Scn fail and do whatever they can to make that happen. Mostly, its founded out of their own ignorance of what it is. When and if they actually find out, the attacks stop and they feel embarrased and guilty. hence you get all these reports that are savage using descriptions to paint Scn just as nasty as they can. The whole INTENT is to keep you away.

9) see, this is too long. but you didnt get much of an answer from anyone else except refereals to more media coverage and other stuff which isnt from the Horses mouth. Nice that you asked "scn members only" - I garuntee you the other answerers know nothing about actual Scn; they couldnt tell you anything more than what they heard or read in papers.

Look for yourself. Make your own decisions. Dont do it if you dontwant to. I dont care. but go to the source and look with your own eyes rather than listen to media hype and religoius zealots etc etc.

So yeah, sh*t happens in our group too. But hey, its not the murder and kidnapping that its made out to be.
