I truly cannot think of any good aspects of Scientology. It is not even allowed to register as a church in Britain. It also threatens legal action whenever anyone criticizes it. There is currently a Twitter campaign against them because of their threats against an elected representative of a Local Authority.

Good

1. It gives us something to laugh at.

2. The stupid people who actually believe this crap help others feel smarter.

3. It shows the world how stupid and gullible celebrities can really be.

Bad

1. Brainwashing

2. Stupid people are annoying.

3. Cults are dangerous

Well good aspects first:
1) You get to pay a fair price for the illuminated teachings of a wise man
2) Since you aren't told everything Scientology entails in the beginning, you always learn something new
3) You will be part of an efficiently-managed community that punishes misbehavior. And if you ever leave you will be contacted from time to time just to see you're okay.

On the down side:
1) You're expected to hand over your life-savings (and much much more) for the overpriced writings of a B-rate fantasy novelist who himself admitted before writing the book "Dianetics" that he wanted to found a religion just to make money.
2) You are not told everything Scientology entails and what its actual beliefs are until later on, meaning they deceive you instead of treating you like a human being.
3) You are managed around like slave-lab our, your human-rights will be infringed upon and you will be threatened if you ever leave.

It started out based on truth, and got took over by middlemen. Like anything. Money counters who have no belief in their belief but to make money off of us. Read the book that started it all.
"Dianetics" by L Ron Hubbard. Very good.

Thre good aspects:

1) It serves as ample fodder for comedians to mock and revile
2) When you leave the church, you go "squirrel". Who doesn't like squirrels?
3) L. Ron Hubbard got kicked out of his own church.

Three bad aspects:

1) Tom Cruise
2) It's so full of jargon that you need to practically learn a new language to understand it.
3) You need to buy their books and packages and so on to be "saved". It's like a pyramid scheme.

Scared of the truth are you?I can very objectively say none to the good aspects.Nada, not a one, etc.I was taken to a meeting, recruited and rejected them. This was over 30 years ago.Go to Xena.net for all the reasons Scientology is a bogus scam.My personal #1 reason-it was created by a second rate sci fie writer over a bar bet.#2Auditing is a joke(they were denied a patent)#3-Tom Cruise.

I answer what I want, not what you want. This is an open forum.

You are asking for "objectivity and "open mindedness" from this wonderful group here on yahoo R & S
about a particular minority religion! LOL !!!

The fact that this is an extremely rare quality or ability here is part of it's charm !!!

Don't spoil (as one of the Scientologist on here myself) one of my favorite sources of entertainment LOL!

P.S. Actually no need to worry, judging from all the answers you have so far... you haven't split a thing.

Good aspects:
1.- Scientology works ... it does what's say to do!
2.- Scientology has the answers of any question about life.
3.- Scientology is giving a hope for a better world.

Bad Aspects:
1.- Scientology is made with any type of persons (and someone can make mistakes).
2.- Scientology need to dedications and very much study.
3.- Scientology is hard to understand if the person don't look with eyes.
