Default What is Scientology about, the background story to it. Is my friend's story true ?

My friend told me that Scientology has a thing where a God killed every tenth person or something and put them in a volcano on earth, then he created the atmosphere to keep their spirits inside the earth. Is this somewhat like what the cytologistsSsleevevIN or is it bull ?

It was created by L. Ron Hubbard. A Science Fiction writer.

They believe "Xenu" the alien God plopped a bunch of alien souls in to a earthly volcano. The volcano then erupted the souls out and created humans.. Sounds just as bonkers as any other religion to me..

Scientology is Bull$hit.

It was created by a Science Fiction Writer - Ron Hubbard, who borrowed from Hinduism and Christianity to make up this new work of Fiction.

According to him, there were the Thethans, and the Thetans brought this Material Universe into being largely for their own pleasure.

Then, they fell from Grace when they began to identify with their creation, rather than their Original State of Spiritual Purity.

Now, this is where the Christian and Hindu Philosophies got mangled into "Scientology".

In Christianity, God created the "Material Universe" and in Hinduism, there is the Universal Consciousness, a Collective of all Souls, to loosely use the term, which exists in the Absolute Plane while it's Temporal Manifestations exist in the Temporal Plane as all the Creatures who are individual, but, still One with the Universal Consciousness.

The "falling from Grace" is obviously taken from the Christian version of Satan falling from Grace.

Anyways, he went on and on with convoluted theories which, surprisingly some people began to believe was true!

You can imagine the level of credulousness that these people must have had to believe the words of a Science Fiction Novelist and make a "Religion" out of it.

You can find more details at the link below.

:-)

Read up, buttercup. You're friend isn't that far off. And yes, I'm aware it's Viki, but you'll get the gist of it.

eh kinda close
Xenu, an alien king, sent his alien species to Earth and killed them all by dropping them in volcanoes
after they died their souls came out and went inside humans
Scientologists believe these souls cause confusion today and you are supposed to rid yourself of them

I'm not up on the details, but I know that Scientology was invented by a science fiction writer named L. Ron Hubbard. Many people think it was all an elaborate joke that Hubbard was playing, but since he died decades ago, we can't ask him, and there are plenty of people who take it seriously.

Have no idea. I do know they believe that we're all walking around with a bunch of dead alien souls possessing us and making us be stupid. Then they charge you an arm and a leg to "clear yourself of "the tans," and measure their "success" with an e-meter, which is basically a rigged biofeedback machine that NEVER shows no reaction, even on a corpse. And you pay them and pay them and pay them...and keep paying! If you're young, hot, and more gullible than most, you get to serve on LRon's big hon kin' ship as a slave! Oh, wait, they might have stopped that since he died...Lil...
