why would anybody believe in scientology?

Because it is no more silly than Christianity or Islam, but it is far less pernicious and violent.

As Sam Harris said, it is only SLIGHTLY more ludicrous than most other religions!

So a belief system that revolves around an omniscient, non material, intrinsically good being (core) in which believers must give their money to be a part of, sounds less plausible than the beliefs of those who subscribe to the Abrahamic law of God? interesting. Same package, different packaging to me.

For me, my rational and emotional mind tells me that all religions are a scam.

I guess there are some people whose rational and emotional minds believe Scientology to be true.
