Default Who understands Scientology without having to buy their stuff?

It seems almost every religion i come across has tremendous insight, and one or two downfalls. Scientology's downfall is their commercial twist and grand and ornamental style, which actually seems appropriate for the times. But anyhow, who of you understands Scientology and their purpose without having to buy any of their stuff or get involved directly?

They believe WW2 bombers dropped alien souls into volcano's and when the volcano's erupted the souls ... oh good grief, it's ridiculous.

edit. From Wiki

Xenu, was the dictator of the "Galactic Confederacy" who, 75 million years ago, brought billions of his people to Earth in a DC-8-like spacecraft, stacked them around volcanoes and killed them using hydrogen bombs.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!
Yeah, it's that funny.

You can find info about Scientology on line that will give you a pretty good understanding of what it is all about. But I warn you, your head just might explode once you start reading about this "dare I say" religion....

You cannot understand it without reading the books, the information simply isn't out there.

But it's basically a mixture of a lot of different religions and philosophies already created. I have been directly involved through a friend and have read some of their books. And I have to admit they are very dogmatic and dangerous. I would suggest you do not get involved with them but your choices are yours alone.

But basically they believe in reincarnation, with a bunch of self help techniques that they do not allow you to question.

They believe you are kept from being all you can be by the "blocks" that accumulate in your mind from the emotional trauma in life. They remove these blocks by various exercises meant to numb you to their effect by repetition and other techniques. Along the way, a substantial part of your assets migrate to them. They have some new age, flying saucer kind of religious stuff but that's not the selling point, the clearing process is their bread and butter.
