Scientology is a belief that aliens created everything. it's just like Christianity, expect the aliens live inside you . it's rather silly.

Scientology is considered a cult in the UK- not a religion. There is a lot of brainwashing and you have to pay to earn levels. When you get to the top, you learn the secret of the universe, which is to do with an intergalactic warlord and aliens being sent to Earth.

If your family belongs to Scientology and you leave, your family will be told to lose all contact with you.

It's just a cult basically. England doesn't even recognize it as a charity any more.

Any who could answer that question would be a better man than I am! (Or at least a little more inquisitive)

Tom Cruise isn't crazy, he simply spent decades with people that kissed his butt and told him how "smart" he is.

Scientology for Tom is not the Scientology that the rest of the cultists are experiencing. He receives a very special treatment in their celebrity center. The cult leader is spending a lot of resources to influence Tom's decisions and beliefs, and to shield him from the evil suppressive persons that try to "interpolate" him (they made up that word).

Scientologists made him read a lot of quack material and prevented him from seeing the more logical stuff.

As a result, he believes he knows the "history of psychiatry" and that there's no such thing as chemical imbalance, and he's happy to share these beliefs with other people who are not as smart as he is. The fact is, he's not a scientist of any kind. He doesn't know what he's talking about, just like the Scientology prophet L. Ron. Hubbard.

He needs professional help. Maybe one day he'll get deprogrammed and realize that he spent his entire life on quack "tech".

Cruise claims Scientology helped him...and I'm sure whatever common psych treatment Scientology did for him helped him...but then they took credit for creating the psych treatment and that is wrong.

To be frank, Cruise was misdiagnosed as a child. Scientology learned this and used it to gain Cruise's trust by helping him overcome his psych problem. Once hooked, it was easy to get him completely absorbed. As someone else said, the Scientology that Cruise gets is not what other get.

Anyway, Scientology teaches (upon payment) a wide variety of helpful psych methods that DO work. Frankly, some of them are worth the money. For example, the confront-shatter suppression works......the concentration under pressure exercise works. But Scientology borrowed these methods from other places and sell them AND call themselves a religion AND ostracize you from everything not Scientology...that is wrong...that is a cult.

BTW: Scientology actually does have the 411 on the destructive/suppressive agenda of the psychological industry and several other "authorities". However, going from the main stream into Scientology is like going from the frying pan into the fire.

Cults hook you (and Tom Cruise) with some valuable truths and then trap you in a prison of lies.
