what this term means in Scientology? how long been practiced? and how supposedly makes a person different or what achieves supposedly and why?
also, what are ways this is achieved? if can explain a bit about the practice known as "psychological rundown"? why termed this too by Scientologists? and what is a "rundown"? why termed again..? (as sounds a bit scary doesn't it?..Lil)
Clear in Dianetics and Scientology is one of two levels a practitioner can achieve on the way to personal salvation. A state of Clear is reached when a person becomes free of the influence of engrams, unwanted emotions or painful traumas not readily available to the conscious mind. Scientologists believe that human beings harbor memories of past lives, and that by applying diabetics they can reach Clear.[1]
A person is said to be a Clear when he "no longer has his own reactive mind and therefore suffers none of the ill effects that the reactive mind can cause." A Clear is said to be "at cause over" (in control of) their "mental energy" (their thoughts), and able to think clearly even when faced with the very situation that in earlier times caused them difficulty. The next level of spiritual development is that of an Operating Thetan. A person who has not reached a state of Clear is called a "Prue-clear."[2]
Dianetics states that a person's awareness is influenced by the stimulus-response of the reactive mind. Achieving the state of Clear means a person has overcome the reactive mind and is in complete control of his analytical mind. According to Hubbard: "A Clear is a being who no longer has his own reactive mind, and therefore suffers none of the ill effects the reactive mind can cause. The Clear has no engrams which, when re stimulated, throw out the correctness of his computations by entering hidden and false data."[3] It is estimated that the cost of reaching the Clear state in Scientology is $128,000 [4] - Wikipedia.org ~~~
Scientology and Dianetics were created by L Ron Hubbard, a third rate science fiction writer (I've read some). They use an "E meter", which is an obsolete device for measuring skin resistance to electricity, and waffle on about extraterrestrials, "Thetans" and "clearing". I still believe that they are a cult, which is expert at separating credulous, unwary people from their money. To understand a Clear, it is important to know the basic state of the mind. The mind in it's basic state is like a brand new computer: fast, accurate, follows directions. The more you use a computer, the more it builds up files that slow it down, gets hit by viruses, has files become corrupted, etc., up to a point where it essentially becomes unworkable as a tool. Through life the mind records everything, whether or not a person is conscious. This principle is demonstrated through hypnotism. A person is hypnotized or not fully conscious (the conscious mind cannot recall an implanted hypnotic suggestion if the hypnotist chooses, yet the command will still force the subject to follow it regardless of willingness) and can have hidden commands implanted into their mind during any moment of unconsciousness. This is pr oven fact, in case after case. Even in Psychology it has been
pr oven that moments beyond the recall of the individual are retrievable from the subconscious mind. The hidden commands, mentally and physically painful experiences in life beat down the morale of a person until their actions shift from gradually less logical to gradually more destructive to themselves and the world around them.
Dianetics auditing is conscious-level recall of hidden mentally/physically painful life experiences of
the individual. Fully re-experiencing these incidents, a person frees themselves of unwanted, negative effects of these experiences: hidden commands, conflicting hidden commands resulting in muddled thinking/confusion, low morale/destructive actions to self and the world around one, irrational fears/doubts, bizarre thought processes coming from incorrect data, psychosomatic illness (Dianetics proved something like 70% of illness to be psychosomatic: what the mind is doing to the body,) other mental illness (manic depression/bi-polar condition, schizophrenia, etc.,) etc. This essentially restores thinking to the optimum state and increases a person's natural drive to succeed at life to a level that they haven't experienced before. A person's thinking is now as
right/logical/perfect as they have correct information (education) and life experience. In the computer analogy, it essentially wipes out all the viruses, restores corrupted files and puts the computer into new condition while keeping all user files/data intact. That is what a Clear is: no hidden illogical commands/data, no depressed morale/destructiveness, but fast/logical/effective thinking and someone who can fully experience and enjoy life. The concept of Clear was first introduced in 1950 in Dianetics.
Keep in mind that Dianetics is a science. Its theory aligns so closely to natural laws that its theories are as workable as those in physics, about gravity or electricity. Dianetic theory/application has pr oven to be fact over and over again. Anyone in dispute of Dianetics has A) used it incorrectly, B) no experience with it and has based conclusions on their own or Simone Else's conjecture or C) a
vested/money interest which is threatened by the workability of Dianetics.
Rundown (noun) , a series of steps which are auditing actions and processes (spiritual counseling ),
designed to handle a specific aspect of a case and which have a known end phenomena (result).
In other words, a rundown would be a step towards Clear. Never heard of a "psychological rundown." Not sure where the source of this specialized definition of "rundown" comes from. However, the dictionary definition is: a review or summary. Auditing itself is a review of a person's experiences.
"Clear" state in $Scientology is nonsense made up by L Ron Hubbard to describe his followers who have successfully applied his "work" to their lives to achieve a more positive approach to their lives and can live normally without being held back by fears or worries. Nothing wrong with that of course - it is something we should all be doing, always trying to improve everything. What they wont tell you is that they believe the spirits of dead aliens that have attached themselves to us and "cause our problems". They are attempting to "clear" themselves of these alien souls. Crazy I know but true. Listen to this far out crazy sounding lecture by Hubbard on the matter.

If you think that a guy talking like this holds the key to any kind of greater state of being you are sadly mistaken.
Scientology is something to be avoided - at any cost.
A "clear" in $Scientology is someone who has spent thousands of dollars to get their time wasted, and possibly psychologically or physically harassed. STAY AWAY FROM THEM!!!!
