Default what is Scientology like ABOUT?

So I have heard so many references to how cytologistsST's a bunch of crazy douches. Well to be honest I know nothing about it and before I make a judgment on it I would like to know wt it is ABOUT. I went to their website and basically it has nothing really about what they do or believe in... like a bunch if idealistic confusing BS. like a total mind-ck.
I don't care if you are one, are not one, or disagree with them just give me their basic "beliefs" with no opinion attached.
FYI I AM NOT LOOKING FOR A RELIGION, no need to convert me to any BS.

Actually, their doctrines really are kind of crazy.

Here's what ex-members have to say about it:

Some of their experiences are truly horrifying.

they are totally bat sh** crazy

there is a secular side to the religion, and a religious side

some people try to defend the secular side, and emphasis how worthy it is

the religious side is utterly insane, involving alien ghosts, volcano's, jet planes and nuclear weapons (it's easy to guess what era the religion was made-up in isn't it)

the religion was started by a 2ND rate sci-fie author - L.Ron Hubbard - who is on record as saying that starting a religion was an easy way to make money

if you want to explore the utter insanity they go here: http://www.xenu.net
its a site for people who have left the religion and can tell you the truth, without trying to convert you)

They believe that millions of years ago in a galaxy far away, an alien dictator by the name of Xenu commit ed genocide by hoarding millions of people into spaceships, bringing them to Earth, putting them into volcanoes in the "Canarias" islands in Spain, among others, and then dropping nuclear bombs inside them to kill those alien people.

Then, as these alien souls release into the sky, he has huge ribbons collecting them and the result is that those souls are among us and cling to our bodies making us impure.

Or something like that. If that doesn't sound crazy to you...

Why does their very own site have nothing about what they really believe ? B/c their beliefs are INSANE. Basically, aliens put a bunch of alien souls in cry, dumped them in a volcano and we're all possessed by alien souls (which thawed out in the volcano) and if you PAY MONEY you can get yourself fixed from all these alien souls bossing you around. Total rubbish. Dianetics does have ONE sensible idea and that is that old memories of getting hurt (physically or emotionally) can cause psychological problems. It then goes too far and says that these memories are the source of ALL problems. (Ebola for example, or the way you die if you're hit by a bus).

L. Ron Hubbard said he was going to get rich off of gullible people by starting a religion and he DID IT. Scientology should be considered a 'heads up' about how dumb religion is.

Scientology is an applied religious philosophy or a practical approach to help the individual remove barriers from self in order to succeed and expand in the various productive endeavors of life (family/sex, groups, mankind, plant/animal life, the physical universe, thought/soul/spirit, God/the Creator) and as a sentient thought entity or spirit. Scientology is built upon pr oven workable technology/tools like Dianetics. Dianetics observed that an individual is basically good, even seemingly evil individuals, once they are unburdened of hidden mentally/physically painful experiences in their past and other mental tangles. Dianetics puts an individual in the driver's seat of their own life and gives them the tools/morale to get out of their own way and quit stopping themselves so that they can succeed at life. It has core ideas such as communicating about real (mutually agreed upon) ideas in order to increase affinity (liking/love/connection). Scientology has logic tools, organizational tools, educational tools, drug rehabilitation tools, ethics/criminal reform tools, etc. These tools share a common thread: the fact that they are more (often considerably so) effective than anything else in their field. Some of Scientology is spiritual and takes a medium-sized leap of faith but the greater part of it is as demonstrate able as any other scientific theory such as physics, electricity or gravity. Scientology is non-dogmatic and allows to individual to arrive at his/her own conclusion about what is true. Scientology is result-oriented, scientific thinking applied to religion, philosophy and various other practical humanities. It delivers on what society always wanted as an ideal from psychology/psychiatry but succeeds where those endeavors failed and surpasses them.

They believe the souls of ancient aliens who were brought here ages ago and blown up by an evil alien warlord named emu/xenu, are attached to our bodies and cause us our problems - kind of like the christian inner demons concept. They practice various techniques to remove this fictional entities from themselves. That is the core belief BS. It is in actual fact a pyramid business scam so anything else ac Tally said about is kind of superfluous nonsense. In one sentence, $Scientology is a money making machine that preys on the stupid.

From the official site:

Developed by L. Ron Hubbard, Scientology is a religion that offers a precise path leading to a complete and certain understanding of one?s true spiritual nature and one?s relationship to self, family, groups, Mankind, all life forms, the material universe, the spiritual universe and the Supreme Being.

Scientology addresses the spirit?not the body or mind?and believes that Man is far more than a product of his environment, or his genes.

Scientology comprises a body of knowledge which extends from certain fundamental truths. Prime among these are:

Man is an immortal spiritual being.

His experience extends well beyond a single lifetime.

His capabilities are unlimited, even if not presently realized.

Scientology further holds Man to be basically good, and that his spiritual salvation depends upon himself, his fellows and his attainment of brotherhood with the universe.

Scientology is not a dogmatic religion in which one is asked to accept anything on faith alone. On the contrary, one discovers for oneself that the principles of Scientology are true by applying its principles and observing or experiencing the results.

The ultimate goal of Scientology is true spiritual enlightenment and freedom.

Scientologists believe that they are saving the planet.

They also believe that radiation, drugs, alcohol, and even sunburns are being accumulated in our bodies, so they do "purification rundowns" to remove them (it involves lots of saunas and toxic doses of niacin). They do "auditing" to remove old traumas and "body the tans" (souls of dead aliens).

Scilons that have paid enough money to reach the OT3 level are told that 75 millions of years ago the galactic ruler Xenu etc etc... Scientologists believe that if you learn about this before you reach OT3, you'll die from pneumonia. They have to deny the existence of this in public.

Here?s a factual description for you:
Definition:
The term Scientology is taken from the Latin word "SCIO" : which means, in the fullest sense of the word, "knowing", and the Greek word "LOGOS" which simply means "study of".
The subject of Scientology is further defined as :
"the study and handling of the spirit in relationship to itself, universes and other life. "

Scientology is a new religion. Less than 60 years old.It is an applied religious philosophy. By ?applied? is meant that it is for use in life and living. It is a practical religion.
All religions if you study them have a basic philosophy, but they also have certain dogma, rituals and observances and a certain faith or belief is required. There is nothing wrong with this , but Scientology is not that kind of religion. It does acknowledge the principle of God or the Supreme Being but does not try to define or describe this principle, leaving it up to the individual.
It is also not a messianic religion. This means there is no worship of prophets or messiahs or gods. It is not belief or faith based. In Scientology a truth is true for you according to your own observation and experience .
The dictionary definition that applies:

Religion: The spiritual or emotional attitude of one who recognizes the existence of superhuman power or powers.

The most basic principle of Scientology is that YOU are your own immortal soul, that this is not a thing you have but what YOU actually are.
Scientology believes or considers that Man is basically good. This is different from many religions that promote that he his naively evil or bad unless ?made? good.

The whole purpose of Scientology knowledge application and procedure is to increase an individual?s understanding and awareness of himself as a spiritual being and to rehabilitate his native abilities and potential.
When you do this the sphere and zones of his positive influence increase and move outward into his life , his family and friends, his groups and Mankind of which he is part .

How this result is achieved is the ?technology? of Scientology, which was developed by L Ron Hubbard from discoveries he made after extensive research into the field of the mind and the human spirit.
Scientology?s closest spiritual ties with any other religion are with Orthodox (Hinayana ) Buddhism with which it shares an historical lineage. But even here the relationship is based mainly on friendship and the recognition of the being as a spirit rather than any organizational ties.

L.Ron Hubbard published 18 basic books from 1950 to 1955 to fully communicate the basic principles of Scientology, the path of his research and the spiritual technology that he developed from this.
He completed all his research before his death in 1986 and left all his materials and copyrights to the Church of Scientology?s Religious Technology Centre along with most of his personal estate when he died.

The true story of Scientology as a religion goes like this:
1. A philosopher develop es a philosophy about life and death.
2. People find it interesting.
3. People find it works.
4. People pass it along to others.
5. It grows.

This is just an overview.
L.Ron Hubbard explained fully the theology and technologies of Scientology in more than 500,000 pages of writings, including dozens of books and over 4,000 tape recorded public lectures.

You can also go to WNW.scientology.org for a much more detailed description of this religion.

Scientology isn't "about" anything. It, itself, is an applied religious philosophy. It teaches that we are immortal spiritual beings and the published research done by the Founder, L Ron Hubbard, between 1950 and 1955 lays it all out. He chose to share his knowledge with the world. You'll find it in the library in the Self Help section.

Scientology isn't for everyone. One needs to have personal desire for improving ones life or getting better. Those who think of the philosophy as "mind-ck" or of those who think of Scientologists as "crazy douches" fall into the category of "not for you".

We have nothing to prove. The help is available only if you want it.

I am a Scientology's and we are seriously SO normal and everything in the media is so blown out of proportion. my parents are cytologistsST's i was brought up one but its not like you would think, i think of Scientology as more of a technology for life that helps you than a set of beliefs. for example: so that we can study better we never read past a word we fully don't understand because it will end up stopping you from understanding the material as a whole.

I'm only a teen so don't know everything there is to know but the fundamentals are diabetics. i probably won't do that good of a job of explaining it but here goes: its basically like you have two minds: a reactive mind and an analytical mind. when you experience something traumatic like a car accident or emotional thing your reactive mind starts recording everything and stores all the info (every sight, smell, touch etc) without you knowing. it then relates each recorded info with each other. this is a bad thing tho. lets say someone almost drowned then this whole experience would be recorded: the emotional distress would become related to sea water and beach etc. this person next time they go to the beach could re-experience the emotional distress their reactive mind recorded. so then obviously they wouldn't wanna go near the beach anymore. then when you do diabetics auditing it removes the emotional pain from the experience so that you remember it but it doesn't have the same badness attached to it.

yahh
