The following:
The Church of Scientology promotes Scientology, a body of beliefs and related practices created by L. Ron Hubbard, starting in 1952 as a successor to his earlier self-help system, Dianetics.
Scientology teaches that people are immortal spiritual beings who have forgotten their true nature. The story of Xenu is part of Scientologist teachings about extraterrestrial civilizations and alien interventions in Earthly events, collectively described as space opera by Hubbard. Its method of spiritual rehabilitation is a type of counseling known as "auditing", in which practitioners aim to re-experience consciously painful or traumatic events in their past, in order to free themselves of their limiting effects. Study materials and auditing courses are made available to members in return for specified donations. Scientology is legally recognized as a tax-exempt religion in the United States and other countries, and the Church of Scientology emphasizes this as proof that it is a Nona Fidel religion.
Scientology describes itself as the study and handling of the spirit in relationship to itself, others, and all of life. One purpose of Scientology, as stated by the Church of Scientology, is to become certain of ones spiritual existence and ones relationship to God, or the "Supreme Being."
One of the major tenets of Scientology is that a human is an immortal alien spiritual being, termed a the tan, that is presently trapped on planet Earth in a physical "meat body." Hubbard described these the tans in "The Space Opera" cosmogony. The the tan has had innumerable past lives and it is accepted in Scientology that lives preceding the the tan's arrival on Earth lived in extraterrestrial cultures. Descriptions of space opera incidents are seen as true events by Scientologists.
Scientology claims that its practices provide methods by which a person can achieve greater spiritual awareness. Within Scientology, progression from level to level is often called The Bridge to Total Freedom. Scientologists progress from "Preclear", to "Clear", and ultimately "Operating Thetan".
Scientologists are taught that a series of events, or incidents, occurred before life on earth. Scientologists also believe that humans have hidden abilities which can be unlocked.
Basically. The Galactic ruler Evil lord Xenu (Muhuhuhuh) decided to off a load of aliens because his empire was over populated so he brought them to earth and permanent them with nukes. Their souls started to rise up so he used giant speaker things to trap the souls here forever where they roam around and attach to humans. Attached alien souls are what make us BAWWWW.
They teach that the goal is to break the cycle of reincarnation and thus become a free spirit.
In order to learn how to do this you have to pay them a lot of money to teach you how to separate yourself from alien spirits that have attached to your body.
XENU! Lord Xenu! I love Scientology. How ignorant can people be?
Scientology's Lord Xenu Doctrine
Conspiracy Theorists May Love what the CoS Denies it Teaches

The Thetans were Transported in DC-8 Rockets - Wikimedia Commons, Gnu Free Documentation LicenseA galactic overlord killing off millions of people sounds like something one would see in a 1950s science fiction movie, but the doctrine is attributed to a religion.
75 million years ago, a galactic dictator named Lord Xenu faced an overpopulation problem in his quadrant of the galaxy. His solution would cause humanity millennial of pain and suffering in an endless cycle when he transported several trillion innocent Thetans to Earth and destroyed their bodies. The Thetans were inhabitants over which Lord Xenu held sway.
The above paragraph sounds like it could have been lifted off of the pages of a science fiction novel, but Lord Xenu is a controversial doctrine attributed to the Church of Scientology. Finding unbiased information about Scientology is nearly impossible, and the Church of Scientology denies the existence of the Lord Xenu doctrine.
A Disclaimer about Lord Xenu
Because the Church of Scientology denies the existence of the Lord Xenu doctrine, the only sources that contained information about Lord Xenu and what he did are biased against Scientology. Sources neutral to Scientology are rare. The information presented in this article should be treated with skepticism and be viewed much the same way a disinterested party would view the research of a UFOlogist.

simple, you got problems, I have phallic-shaped cures that cost $5000 to operate
you see you got the tans, we need you to spend money and get a feeling no different than spree shopping, so we can claim that's the the tans being taken out.
and be sure to be back for weekly check ups on the tan levels so you aren't depressed or diabetic or epileptic anymore.
Scientology doesn't tell anyone to believe in anything. It offers a method of improving yourself.
From their site: http://www.scientology.org/what-is-scientology.html
"Developed by L. Ron Hubbard, Scientology is a religion that offers a precise path leading to a complete and certain understanding of one?s true spiritual nature and one?s relationship to self, family, groups, Mankind, all life forms, the material universe, the spiritual universe and the Supreme Being.
Scientology addresses the spirit?not the body or mind?and believes that Man is far more than a product of his environment, or his genes.
Scientology comprises a body of knowledge which extends from certain fundamental truths. Prime among these are:
Man is an immortal spiritual being.
His experience extends well beyond a single lifetime.
His capabilities are unlimited, even if not presently realized.
Scientology further holds Man to be basically good, and that his spiritual salvation depends upon himself, his fellows and his attainment of brotherhood with the universe.
Scientology is not a dogmatic religion in which one is asked to accept anything on faith alone. On the contrary, one discovers for oneself that the principles of Scientology are true by applying its principles and observing or experiencing the results.
The ultimate goal of Scientology is true spiritual enlightenment and freedom."
Invisible aliens cause the illnesses and problems in your life, and they're the only ones who can help you. After paying them tens of thousands of dollars, of course.
Ultimately, if you give them all your money and time, you will believe you are saving this sector of our galaxy. And you are the only ones doing it.
Hubbard used to get a briefcase of $ 500,000 delivered to him weekly by having people believe that crap.
Scientology teaches that drugs, radiation and alien spirits (body the tans) are accumulating in our bodies. Scientologists attempt to remove them by doing auditing (answering questions while hooked up to a lie detector), and purification rundown (lots of saunas, while they consume toxic doses of niacin).
Scientology also teaches that they have the right to do everything they can to "save" the planet, including breaking the laws. That's why there are so many news reports that focus on their alleged and pr oven crimes.
Here?s a factual description for you:
(From a Scientologist who has studied and practiced this religion for over 39 years):
Definition:
The term Scientology is taken from the Latin word "SCIO" : which means, in the fullest sense of the word, "knowing", and the Greek word "LOGOS" which simply means "study of".
The subject of Scientology is further defined as :
"the study and handling of the spirit in relationship to itself, universes and other life. "
Scientology is a new religion. Less than 60 years old.It is an applied religious philosophy. By ?applied? is meant that it is for use in life and living. You actually use it in your day to day life to change and improve existing conditions. It is a practical religion.
All religions if you study them have a basic philosophy, but they also have certain dogma, rituals and observances and a certain faith or belief is required. There is nothing wrong with this , but Scientology is not that kind of religion. It does acknowledge the principle of God or the Supreme Being but does not try to define or describe this principle, leaving it up to the individual.
It is also not a messianic religion. This means there is no worship of prophets or messiahs or gods. It is not belief or faith based. In Scientology a truth is true for you according to your own observation and experience .
The dictionary definition that applies:
Religion: The spiritual or emotional attitude of one who recognizes the existence of superhuman power or powers.
The most basic principle of Scientology is that YOU are your own immortal soul, that this is not a thing you have but what YOU actually are.
Scientology believes or considers that Man is basically good. This is different from many religions that promote that he his naively evil or bad unless ?made? good.
The whole purpose of Scientology knowledge application and procedure is to increase an individual?s understanding and awareness of himself as a spiritual being and to rehabilitate his native abilities and potential.
When you do this the sphere and zones of his positive influence increase and move outward into his life , his family and friends, his groups and Mankind of which he is part .
How this result is achieved is the ?technology? of Scientology, which was developed by L Ron Hubbard from discoveries he made after extensive research into the field of the mind and the human spirit.
Scientology?s closest spiritual ties with any other religion are with Orthodox (Hinayana ) Buddhism with which it shares an historical lineage. But even here the relationship is based mainly on friendship and the recognition of the being as a spirit rather than any organizational ties.
L.Ron Hubbard published 18 basic books from 1950 to 1955 to fully communicate the basic principles of Scientology, the path of his research and the spiritual technology that he developed from this.
He completed all his research before his death in 1986 and left all his materials and copyrights to the Church of Scientology?s Religious Technology Centre along with most of his personal estate when he died.
The true story of Scientology as a religion goes like this:
1. A philosopher develop es a philosophy about life and death.
2. People find it interesting.
3. People find it works.
4. People pass it along to others.
5. It grows.
This is just an overview.
L.Ron Hubbard explained fully the theology and technologies of Scientology in more than 500,000 pages of writings, including dozens of books and over 4,000 tape recorded public lectures.
You can also go to WNW.scientology.org for a much more detailed description of this religion.

First of all, Scientology isn't a belief-based system. The principal of "true by personal observation of workability" applies in all Scientology studies. Nothing is to be taken on faith and the only proof you need is what you see for yourself. If you try some principle and it works then it's true for you. That's all.

The ends justify the means and that any means, fair or foul, are justified in order to promote Scientology.
Scientology is 50,000 or less and shrinking everyday, the more people that have Internet access, the fewer Scientologists there are since everyone can read about the real L Ron Hubbard and not the marketing tripe you read on Scientology websites and is recopied and repasted here on yahoo answers.
