You are incapable of understanding Scientology because your body Thetans have yet to be exorcised.

Report immediately to the nearest Scientology Center to begin this process.

1- money does go to your head, it will change a person faster than any type of horrific event.

2-Scientology is just a fad. its the hot new thing in Hollywood. its a way to get your name back in the papers, much like getting married, or having a baby. they dint do it because that's what the want, celebrities are not normal people. they want nothing but more fame, and more money. sure everyone wants more money, but these people are sick. they will have a child and ruin its life, just to get their name back in the spotlight for another 15 minutes.

3- religion in general can be called crazy, no one really knows the truth. its all faith. perhaps spacemen really are the creators of earth, and we are just ants in an ant farm.

i do know any facts about Scientology as for what the actually believe, but I'm sure it differs from one person to the next, just as any other religion.

I'm not a Scientology's but if you put every other religion in the same terms:

- run by man sitting on cloud who made earth in 7 days then went on holiday - currently waiting to punish unbelievers on judgment day;

- religion which includes eating and drinking representations of gods sons body;

- religion based on coming back as a higher or lower animal depending on how good or bad you have been;

- etc etc etc

Much as I don't understand the logic or belief systems in various religions (including Scientology) I respect the persons right to believe it - I don't have to respect their actual beliefs.

Peace out

Most didn't learn about Xenu until they had been in Scientology a long long long time, by which time it's too late for critical thinking, IMO.

I don't know what they do nowadays with the popularity of critics posting the story of Xenu all over the net, it's even got an entry in Wikipedia.

Xenu is just a belief so it deserves the same respect as other non-harmful beliefs. The CofS is harmful however.

Scientology uses hard sell techniques where they target people with some 'issue', promise them they can solve them, then indoctrinate them; this also results in the parting of much cash, yes. Critics and ex-Scientology describes the practices as very akin to some known brain washing techniques and like any religion it makes you believe only it has the answer. It's no different.

Now I don't agree with Scientology in the slightest, but your question could have been infinitely better put.

Here is the cornerstone website of Scientology criticism for your perusal: http://www.clambake.org

You are right, there is nothing to understand here. The source of your information is completely nuts!
If you believe all the "crazy" things you are told about Scientology from dubious websites and the rubbish the media circulates
(they just want to sell advertising through tabloids and TV and thrive on inventing crazy rum ours and false controversy for people to "buy")
then no wonder you have your current opinion.
Money does not make you crazy, but an inability to separate fact from fiction, truth from lies will definitely affect your sanity.

Following is a copy of an explanation of what Scientology is that I have posted on this forum in answer to questions about what Scientology is
probably about 100 times in the last couple of months.
It cannot compete with the wild and crazy rubbish that it circulating here, and is not intended to . It is quite boring actually, but I can't do any better because it just happens to only be facts.

Scientology is an applied religious philosophy. When I say "applied" I mean you actually use it in your life to change or improve existing conditions. This is different from a religious practice. All religions if you learn about them have a basic philosophy, but they also have certain dogma, rituals and observances, and a certain faith or belief is required. There is nothing wrong with this, but Scientology is not that kind of religion. It does not intrude on any ones faiths of beliefs particularly in the area of God , the Supreme Being, or the Infinite. This area is left totally up to the individual, which is why you can be a practicing Jew or Atheist,for example and still use and apply the principles of Scientology in your life. It does not conflict. If anything it will enhance your understanding of your chosen religious practice.
And it is only true for you according to your own observation and experience with it.
It is a non denominational religion . The dictionary definition that applies:
Religion: The spiritual or emotional attitude of one who recognizes the existence of superhuman power or powers.

The most basic principle of Scientology is that YOU are your own immortal soul, that this is not a "thing" you HAVE but what YOU actually are.
The whole purpose of Scientology is to increase an individuals understanding and awareness of himself. And thereby his native abilities .
When you do this the sphere and zone of his positive influence increases and moves outward into his life, his family ,his friends, his groups and mankind which he is part of.

How this result is achieved is the "technology" of Scientology, which was developed by L.Ron Hubbard after his extensive research and the discoveries he made, about the human spirit.

He published a book in 1951 to communicate the basic principles he discovered called: " Scientology The Fundementals of Thought"
