Shi'a The Shi'a constitute 10–20% of Islam and are its second-largest branch.[9][12] They believe in the political and religious leadership of Imams from the progeny of Ali ibn Abi Talib, who according to most Shi'a are in a state of ismah, meaning infallibility

Default Does it matter if you are Sunni or Shi'ite?

I read a few Eadith concerning the "12 imams" prophesied.I read a few quotes from the Qumran concerning "divisions". Really,I am very confused.

Apparently it does to them! They've been murdering one another for over 800 years because of a ridiculous dispute.

Quran was revealed before any sects, so don't worry about it. Hadiths NEVER contradict Allah's commands. So follow the Quran and authentic HadesTHSsd stay away from sects. Politics was the root cause of ALL sectarianism, not only in Islam, but also in Judaism and Christianity.

Sunni was the original Muslim, and is the way of Islam. Shina is a sect of Islam that decided to change all the rules. To become Muslim you say shadewen la illaha ilallah wa eshedew enna muhammedan rosoolo allah. Meaning I bear witniss that there is no god but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammed is the prophet of Allah. Shia dont even follolw the techings of the prophet (pbuh) and the go against a lot of the rules of Quran.
