Default What are your thoughts on Shinto?

I was reading up on Buddhism and clicked on a link explaining Shinto. It just really made sense to me.(Don't ask me why) Now I know most followers are in Japan, but I've read there are a few (like 1000 or so) in the North America.

Anyone care to provide information or their opinion on it.

(BTW I do respect other religions, but none of this "my religion is better" crap. I can't stand that. I will report you. You can have a valid opinion but I don't want that "Holier than thou" stuff. )

It seems pretty cool, like Japan's Taoism. I like nature shaman religions.

It seems to make a lot more sense than some belief systems, if it fits into your view of life, go for it

Enjoy

I like animistic religions. And I'm particularly fond of Fox Kami. If he ever helps me win the lotto, I'm going to give funds to build a Shinto shrine to fox Jami in the Earl Burns Miller Japanese Gardens on CSULBs campus.

I am a Christian and this is because i believe it to be true. This being said i believe we all make our own choices.

No disrespect to the followers of Shinto but i would not have much faith in it if i had no religion.

Overall though the only person who can make that choice is you. Research it deeply and see what you think. Keep in mind some things though, such as are their any historical facts to back any of it up? Do the individual parts make sense to you, such as do you think that a storm has a spirit, or a plant? Just ask yourself some questions along throughout your research and that will give you your answer.

Well it certainly makes more sense than re tarted religions such as Catholicism and Christianity.
Infact i would be go as far as to say that Scientology makes more sense than the two mentioned above.
But yeah Shinto is a pretty cool religion that is interesting and has had a lot of impact on how Japan has changed and what it is like today.

Jesus isn't real.
Rep it.

Im an atheist but I celebrate Shinto stuff(it's like celebrating Xmas while you;re an atheist)
It's pretty cool but Japanese have messed up religions yeah they don;t believe in god but they still celebrate Xmas day of the dead(Bon festival, which is a Buddhist holiday) Valentine and White day and the new years(which is a Shinto holiday)
I like the Bone festival because you get to stay up till morning to dance for three days straight. and you sleep during the day.Although MOST celebrate for only two hours,Where my grandma lives is famous for the Bone festival.
