The idea that only one path leads back home to God assumes a God so incompetent that he can't even organize a simple educational field excursion and get all of the student?s home safely.
This amounts to saying that God has a plan for your salvation, but He was not smart enough to come up with one that would work 100 percent of the time.
It's an ancient native religion of Japan still practiced in a form modified by the influence of Buddhism and Confucianism. In its present form Shinto is characterized less by religious doctrine or belief than by the observance of popular festivals and traditional ceremonies and customs, many involving pilgrimages to shrines.
