It doesn't matter what they teach. The teachings began through one man so currently people are teaching the thoughts of one person and have nothing to do with real life and human nature.

Buddhism is basically silent on the issue.

HH the Dalai Lama believes that the the precept to "not misuse sex" means homosexuality - or that it is considered a misuse.

however, in the whole of Buddhism, almost everything is up to the participant. you have to formulate your own set of beliefs - regardless if the masters agree or not.

I think Buddhism tends to shy away from sexuality as a whole. I'm not sure what Shinto and Hinduism think of it, but I know 90something% Hindu India only legalized homosexuality last year, so that's probably a clue.

For Buddhism, it depends which sect you talk to. Generally most will say that homosexuality, along with excessive bodily pleasure, is bad or misusing sexual intimacy.

Shintoism, I have no clue. Hope others will have answers.

Hinduism.... I have no clue either. Some Hindus: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a1A2dQ2oJIE are extremely against homosexuality. Others are more accepting.

Basically, the issue is divided between fanatic Hindus and moderate-liberal Hindus.

Shinto doesn't have anything to say one way or the other.

The Shinto principle that would apply here is "cleanliness of mind and body". Shintoists avoid unclean substances such as blood and feces and undergo a purification ritual if they contact such substances.

My personal view is whatever two consenting adults do in private is their own business whether I agree with it or not.
