Shinto is a miserable Japanese cult where they worship the Emperor of japan as a God

I was in japan once and went in to a Shinto shrine, and saw 2 huge pictures of Emperor Hirohito of japan and his son Akihito. Japanese were praying to those 2 Gangsters as if they were gods

I was also told that all the jape kids are brainwashed at school and made to join this Shinto cult

Years ago all of Japan was that religion and felt the Emperor was the representation of God on earth.
So when he promised them heavenly bliss to go take over the USA they felt it was straight from God himself. They have taken over China and won the war so thinking at this point anything was possible and it was all because of their religion. God was with them so to speak.

After two or three atomic bombs was dropped on their country and most people died, they gave up the religion feeling they had been lied to. They saw the emperor captured and killed so they could see he was no God. I read the history story and it was on the history channel. Very sad.

It was the changing of religion by nations after a horrific act occurs. Such as Indonesia was christian when the last volcano blew and killed a large portion of the people so they became Muslims.

Prior to the Jews leaving Egypt they worshiped frogs, the Nile river, Pharaoh, and similar objects.
After the ten plagues which science will not confirm, they just say something happened and they gave up that religion to worship the sun, moon, and stars. Which they thought was the God who did the ten plagues.

You can try taking a trip to Japan or try finding a Shinto center here in the U.S and here is some history of the religion i know first it has nothing to do the emperors of Japan it has two gods one is named Izanagi-no-Mikoto (male) and the other is named Izanami-no-Mikoto (female) and Sara and Irish girl know nothing about this religion so do not listen to them although it is not practiced as much anymore there are still millions of followers and many people in Japan follow many of the customs of the religion and Christians please don't start calling a religion that has been around before yours a cult because in my eyes your religion is a cult oh and the texts are and there are a few shrines here in the U.S.

* The Kojiki (Record of Ancient Matters) The foundation to written Shinto history.
* The Shoku Nihongi and its Nihon Shoki (Continuing Chronicles of Japan)
* The Rikkokushi (Six National Histories)
* The Jinn? Sh?t?ki (a study of Shinto and Japanese politics and history) written in the 14Th century

Join one of the Shinto mailing lists and/or Yahoo and Facebook groups.

Note that Shinto was never about worshiping the Emperor of Japan except during WWII when the militarists tried to use that as propaganda for the war. There are some ceremonies that the Emperor performs as a priest but they aren't related to emperor worship. Until the Meiji revolution of 1867 when the government was forcibly modernizing Japan and using the Emperor as a tool, there were no Japanese Emperors enshrined by Shinto rituals (a couple were enshrined by Buddhist rituals).

Shinto has four (unofficial) tenets:

1. Respect for family.

2. Respect for nature.

3. Cleanliness of body and mind.

4. Celebration of the harmony between nature and humanity through the Kami.

About Kami:

Kami are not gods in the Western sense of an all powerful supreme being. Instead they are the personification of the divine spark that exists in almost every natural object whether animate or inanimate.

Shinto has no founder, no commandments, and the Shinto texts are not central to the religion. This allows Shinto to have a high degree of individualization. A problem with monotheistic religions is that they separate everything into right and wrong--because there is only one god there is only one correct way. This is good for their leaders because it allows them to accumulate power and wealth but not so good for everyone else. In a polytheistic religion like Shinto the concept of "there is only one correct way" doest exist so widely separated views are accepted as legitimate without a particular practitioner having to agree with them. As an example, a Shintoist can belong to one or more other religions because Shinto accepts the gods of other religions as just another Kami.
