Default Is there a specific Japanese term for Shinto priests?

I know that female Shinto temple assistants are called 'Mikol', but is there a term for the actual priest?

Hmm...I haven't been to Japan in quite a while so I might have forgotten or simply out of touch but I'm sure a Buddhistic Monk is called a Hoshi...I'm not sure if I can remember the term for a Shinto priest specifically or if there was ever one to begin with but to my understanding Shinto and Buddhism have blended to a certain degree in Japan so Hoshi might be acceptable as it is....

I'm sorry if I can't be of more help...

A Shinto priest is called a 'mannish' (A).

Traditionally, 'mannish' was the head priest of the shrine but lately it just refers to any Shinto priest.

Also, it has been seen as a male role but lately, there have been some female Shinto priests entering into the service.
