I can't tell you for sure, but they are the major two, If I'd have to guess, 90% and upwards.

Also, most people are Syncretists in Japan.

52% feel they do not have any religion. Basically atheist, or secular.
36% identify themselves as Buddhist.
11% identify as Shinto.
11% identify as Christian.

Note: This poll is 8 years old. I couldn't find anything more recent.

<edit> I gave you the percentages. Hell, I'm the ONLY person who gave you actual percentages. With a source. What else do you want?

Not many practice the religions but a lot of religious activities are traditional activities here, for example paying respect to your ancestor day, new year etc. and everyone does those.

The people in Japan have had Shinto and Buddhism around for a very long time. Most people will take part in celebrations of both religions. They are not strict dogmas like Christianity or Islam, so the two have sort of complemented each other.

"Today, the number of followers claimed by different religions are as follows: Shinto, 109 million; Buddhism, 96 million; and Christianity, 1.46 million. The sum of these figures is nearly twice Japan's population, a situation without parallel in other countries."

Modern Japanese are about as secular as Europeans, which is to say most of them practice little or no religion. But among those who do, the most common thing is toe be both Buddhist and Shinto at the same time. Births and marriages tend to be celebrated in Shinto rites, and funerals in Buddhist rites.
So it makes no sense to divide Japanese people into % Buddhist and % Shinto.

actually, that is quite a difficult question...

first of all, Shinto is a kind of wide-front religion, originally.
I, as one of Japanese, think most of us think we have no religion, but
if we don't be uncritical to other religions, that means our religion is Shinto.

most Japanese people go Shinto shrines when they are children and their go to church for bridal. funerals of them are usually put in temples...
that is supported by Shinto background.
Shinto originally allows other religions and ancient Shinto teaches that you can see gods in everything.
hence even we, Japanese, can't say what% of us are in Shinto or Buddhism.
taking the correct % is almost impossible...
most of us have Shinto attitude but are not aware that because it's too natural to us.
