Shinto.... In the simplest way you can.....?

please describe their beliefs or dogma or whatever you call it. i know it is Japanese and I heard a beautiful and easy description/translation once but I cannot remember what it was. It was almost like a moment of enlightenment so I want to remember that moment now and relive it.

Shintoism is about revering spirits rather than gods. you have to pace yourself on the Shinto path though or you might get Shinto splints

In Shinto, the enlightenment is about your connection to everything that exist around you specially the forces of nature and your relation to the divine and the spirits. Adopted from Buddhist Way of Life in Japanese Culture and Tradition.
To be enlightened however is not by any specific culture or religion because the "true enlightened" sees everything as simply one and whole.

That would be an ecumenical matter.
