Default what is a shinto god? i read George Bush worshipped it.

OK for those who don't know how to read, i said i read he worshiped a Shinto god, i didn't ask what religion he is, and i didn't say i believe he worshiped one. I asked what is it he is accused of worship ping.

I'm sure he'd think your post is funny.
He seems to have a good sense of humor.

It is a native Japanese religion, very loosely organized and varies from village to village. It is animistic in nature and it's practice is to appease the Jami, or spirits, to assure good fortune and protection. They also incorporate ancestor veneration, because they recognize that their ancestors laid the path that put them where they are today.

There is no one Shinto god.
Shinto is made up of a bunch of gods.
In fact, according to the Shinto religion, everyone has a certain degree of divinity in them. Some more than others.
For example, the Imperial line of Japan has the largest degree of divinity, since the Imperial line is directly descended from the first Shinto goddess Amaterasu.
I highly doubt Bush worshiped it. Most Japanese people don't even worship it anymore.
It's no so much a religion or set of beliefs as it is a historical account describing the lineage of various families and their association with the Imperial line.

Shinto deities are nature spirits called Jami. I seriously can't see GWB worshiping one.

Have you ever seen one of my fave movies, My Neighbor Totoro? Its like that. I love Totoro! Oh, no! I'm loving a nature spirit, an animated one too!
