Just put some peppermints in his feed .Winnies Cookies are good and the horses love them. You can go on line and get a free sample of them at Horse City. com or Parellii Natural Horsemenship.com. These are good for your horse as well. Check them out. Happy Birthday to your horse.

Here is a recipe for a Horse B-Day cake.

BIRTHDAY CAKE
4 cups of sweet feed or oats
1 cup of molasses or honey
2 carrots cut into carrot sticks
1 apple cut into slices

Mix the honey and sweet feed or oats together in a big bowl. When fully mixed, place the mixture on a plate and shape into the form of a birthday cake. Use the carrots as candles and the apple slices as decorations. Horses really enjoy this sticky but delicious treat.

I have made this before, and my horse loves peppermints also, just sprinkle them on top.

Oh how sweet. We just celebrated donkey birthdays around here. I know this is bad...but I only do it once a yr. We went to McDonalds and got 14 apple pies. You should have seen the look on the servers face. I had to laugh. Then I went and got a bag of peppermint candy and stuffed them in the apple pies.....they loved them.
Here is a recipe I found....
Carrot Cake

? 1 cup sugar
? 1 cup light brown sugar
? 1 cup flour
? 1 cup bran
? 1 teaspoon baking powder
? 1 teaspoon baking soda
? 1 teaspoon cinnamon
? 2 cups grated carrots
? 1 1/2 cups corn oil
? 2 cups applesauce
? 2 teaspoons vanilla
? 1 apple, cut in sixths

Preheat oven to 325? and grease a 13x9 inch baking pan. In a separate bowl, mix dry ingredients and then add carrots, oil, applesauce and vanilla. Beat until there are no lumps. Pour into a prepared baking pan and bake about one hour. Remove from pan when cool. Garnish with apple slices sprinkled with brown sugar. Serve cool.

Cake Frosting

? 2 cups bran
? 1 cup molasses
? ? cup warm water
? Peppermints
? Sugar cubes

Mix bran, molasses, and water. Thickly spread onto the cake and decorate with peppermints and sugar cubes.

HAPPY B-DAY SHINTO!!!
well i have 10 horses and they love peppermint candy canes and for their birthdays i make a little treat for them.

ingredients

molasses
oats
peppermint candy canes
1 carrot
1 apple
1 pear

well first i pour about 4 cups of oats in a bowl. then add about 1 cup of molasses. next i crunch up 1 candy canes into small pieces then put it in bowl. after that i slice up the carrot, apple, and pear and then put in bowl. after that i put in 1 tablespoon of molasses on top. next i mix it in all together. then i make little cookies and put in oven at 350 degrees and bake til it turns brown. i make this in cookies because that way their is a cookie for all the other horses ( and it is also less messy). this might seem like a lot of work but it is not.

good luck
