Default questions about religion of shinto?

i have some questions about the Shinto religion,

what do they think about the human condition?
like are humans by nature good or bad or in between,
are they originally good but somehow flawed?
and like Buddhists so they suffer? or be live that life is suffering? do they think people deserve to suffer?

also, about afterlife.. there wasn't much information anywhere,
where do they think they are go in after dead or like their "destiny"
what are some possible destinies like salvation or punishment/condemnation?
and do they have more than one lifetime like the Buddhists?
and like the Buddhists again, when they die do they think it is like a step toward a final destiny?

if you have more sources on Shinto, please send me the link
i have encyclopedias and books but they're not telling me much

I know this isn't the answer you want, but I've been searching fruitlessly for detailed information on Shinto for nearly a year and I don't think it has been given much of a social/academic treatment. I would be delighted to know if you find anything.

Shinto says that when you die your Jami (spirit) returns to nature and re manifests itself. For instance your Jami could infuse a tree, or spring, or even an animal.

human condition - birth and death are inseparably linked

human nature - Shinto followers hold a generally positive view of human nature

Shinto sees human beings as basically good and has no concept of original sin, or of humanity as 'fallen'. Certain actions cause impurity and that impurity should be cleansed for ones own peace of mind and good fortune. People do not "deserve" to suffer, there must be harmony in all things.

Shinto is not so much concerned with an afterlife as it is with this life. Shintoists may believe that when they die they eventually become one with the spirits (Jami) and in turn, with nature to which all things return.
