If God DID come out tomorrow and say the right religion is Shinto, would you become a
And how would you feel... especially if it was a FSM?

Yep. I'd convert.
I'd be relieved knowing that the FSM was the real God. He seems nice.

If God came out in any form, I'd probably try to conquer him.
If he didn't want that, well, he shouldn't have made creatures so intent on growing, exploring, and mastering their environments.

You pose an impossibility. God cannot stop being God. He is without change and eternal.
For God to say I am no longer God - become Shinto - is an impossibility.

Yes I would, but he's not cause if he did say that, it would mean that he has been lying all this time in his word. And he can't lie cause he is God.

If God came down. YES. But after 100,000 years of being obscure with this information I kind of doubt he ever would.

I believe God encompasses everything, so to Christians Christianity is right, to Hindus Hinduism is the way, to Jews it would be Judiasm, Islam to Muslims and so forth.
I think its the basic principles these faiths teach is what's important, not the exact type or style that makes it any better or less closer to God than the next man or woman.

About as basic in Western thought as the Principle of Non-Contradiction is the principle that God does not lie. (And you notice that Satan is called the Prince of Lies.) God has already spoken. So Shinto can't be right.
If it were, suppose I said, No, the new Improved Shinto with Chrome Prayer Wheels is the right religion !!!
If you're feeling stupid the medicine is working.

If there was PROOF that one specific religion was completely correct.... I'd switch sure.
but in lack of this occurring, I'll keep to my current opinions.

I wouldn't believe them. Jews have been persuaded, with little success, for years by other religions. It would seem like another one of those instances.

Since Shinto permits observance of other religions, I don't think it would be a problem.
