I mean not too many Sikh boys are turbaned or keep their beard or the other K's.
This thought comes to my mind a lot. If it troubles you too, please share your feelings.
Sikhism is created by Hindues to counter Muslims, in India.
It is not any kind of religion. Even if you see their holy book, it is cocktail of potteries written by different people, including Muslims as well. They just bow down to Holy book and never bother to read it by them selves.
Sikhism will never end. It has too much manta to just disappear. I notice that in Western countries, it commands immense respect next to Budhism only. A lot of it is because of the wholehearted attitude of the Sikh himself. Unfortunately some scoundrel Khalistanis in Canada have given it a bad name.
You are getting confused between Sikhism and Khalsa. Why do you give the turban so much of importance ? Is our religion so fickle that the turban is the be-all and not keeping the turban is the end-all ?
The Khalsa for all practical purpose is over. Im sorry to hurt you, but look at the facts ahead of you. Because almost every 'Khalsa' breaks his religious laws. Of the 5 K?s the Kesh ( hair and beard, eyebrows, body hair ) is shown by a massive ( maybe 99 %, yes 99 % ) majority of the young 'Khalsa', weather they are in the UK or the fields of Punjab . Even the 'Khalsa's who keep the hair will reject 3 other physical symbols. For convenience sake - without batting an eyelid. Ask a religious 'Khalsa', - if you take so much trouble over maintaining your hair at the right length, do you keep ?the Kacha? ( large undergarment / drawers ) or do you wear a Calvein Klein brand of underwear. Do you keep ?the Kanga? ( comb ) of the right length or only a miniature Kanga ? for convenience sake ? The ?Kara? is convenient so almost everyone ( including I ) wear it.
There is nothing wrong with this though - a dynamic religion will not lay too much emphasis on rituals - it will change, progress and become stronger with time. That is why Sikhism is a great religion today.....and will never end
Read the Sikh History. It is the only community that can reappear from ashes. Sikhism is growing. With the Internet and new technology the Sikhism is reaching every where. Many may leave but many others will join.
Sikhs should not mind Oops . If a mad person even hits someone, no one minds.
The word Sikhism should be taken in very broad sense. Sikh means the pupil who is learning the path the way to meet that Almighty the God, Allah, Khuda or Ram. Therefore till there are seekers to find way of God Sikhism can not go to an end. The question of turban caches etc is of very very outer level , though it has its own importance in outer look of a so called Sikh. The main reason for going away from Sikhism is that due to influence of Kalyug we are engaged in worldly matter the duality. We are always confused. In Asa Di War Guru says Kaho Nanak Nishchao Dhyawai II Bin Satgur Bat Na Pawai II.Therefore sikhism is not a show of merely 5 k's but it is matter of belief in God. However coming to answer of question under reference it is perhaps the fault of we people that our new generation is going away from their Sikhi Swarup. We could not either guide them properly or could not create examples for them for inspiration. But we are happy that more and more people are joining in this panth from America, France Britain and other countries. The sikh religion is in its childhood now and it has to grow and grow with the passage of time.
