No, it was a common ground between Hinduism and Islam, but it is an independent religion, with its own set of revelations, theology, leaders and religious practices
religion are a path to god, it lights the way and shows us what to do and about god .
:
AC. to Sikhism any human can attain salvation
1.recite god's name and clean Ur heart from vices such as ego greed etc
2. do good deeds .
what we sow so shall we reap . if we are rich now because we had done such actions in previous life .
about Sikhism and note in it there have been 10 guru's and currently the Sikh holy book is considered a living Guru .as it contains only words from god himself not from the mind of a person as I'm thinking n composing and writing
.after 10Th guru no other human is to be considered a guru . there may be some fake people but beware of them
my friend why have u stopped to look for answer.just because u didn't get answers for such a long time this doesn't means answers don't exists.
Sikhism came into existence by the First Guru Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji who came to earth to help the people as lot of injustice was being done in the name of god .like
the Muslim empire was forcefully converting religions of people and those who refused he started to kill them . as u must be knowing that afganistan and the nearby area currently follows Islam but earlier it had all become Budhist as it had a good concept that we all should pray n find salvation and accept non-violence ,which a lot of people did but 1 problem was there that when these evil people came the emporer etc the budhist did'nt pick up weapons to protect themselves . they were killes and a lot of them even burnt alive , in this way budhism was swept of the land of hindustan , those who ran away to foreign lands, like tibet etc. there this religion still exists .
in sikhism the Guru's told that a person should be able to protect himself n others , this is the case why a sikh is supposed to keep a dager with him (KIRPAN) , same about which a lot of governments are not understanding the concept as they don't know the reason behind it.
just like a soldier pick's up weapons a sikh may pick up weapons .
the 10th Guru Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji sahib whose entire family was martyred which included his father (9Th guru ),his mother, his two sons.
. he was asked why he had picked up weapons when he is a saint and a rosary should be there in his hands , to this he replied that is by requesting the other person that under his feet poor people are being crushed (he never considered other person enemy and were alwasys ready for peace) then it is his duty to pick up weapons to protect them .
is sikhism it is said that we don't fight over various names of sun but fight on the various names of the mighty god .
there are various other concepts too and in the Gurbani , the sikh holy book where 1 can find answers to all his troubles .
Sikhism says that human life is a precious gift which we are wasting by not doing the above given two points to reach our home:god in this very life and be free from death and all the worries of the world .
those two points are the important concepts but other that Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji contains ocean of knowleddge .
Note: Sikhism is a different religion than hinduism and islam. Sikhism says god is present everywhere but we can't see him yet because he is formless and our worldy eyes see the "form"things only which are created in time and will get destroyes too in time but god does'nt die .hindu's pray to idols but Sikhism forbids it .and there are some difference of concept in sikhism and Islam too like every muslim is supposed to pray while facing Kabba Mecca whereas the First Guru revieled the truth that god is present everywhere .
note that although there may be differences , sikhism teaches that all the religions are equal as all pray to same god who creates n takes care of all beings .
in Sikhism there is apractise of "Guru ka Langar " in which all te people are served free good quality food which is prepared while reciting the bani ie prayers the holy words which came from god .evn if the food is simple, the bani makes the food very delicious .the food is served with a thought that a service is being done for god so that a sikh may remove ego from him and the people who eat the food are supposed to sit on floor which is cleaned and on which rug is present .all the people of any community caste or creed , rich or poor sit together . this also represents that in the eyes of god all the people are equal .
apart from this there is a lot more that u can know by reserching
Note:find what the Guru's said etc i.e their history, what they revieled about god .
and te word Sikh means to learn which was chosen as in this age we know a lot about science etc and have ego about that but we don't know about god and there is a lot to be known so a Sikh may learn and be humble to like a student .
Nope Sikhism is not Islam and has nothing to do with it nor is Hinduism. According to Islam, there are only three religions, Christianity, Judaism and Islam...that is it
No , Sikhism is a completely independent religion with its own beautiful philosophy of life ,death .& god.
Sikhism is monotheistic and god is the sole reality of the cosmos .
Though Sikhism shares some common points with Both Hinduism & Islam , its not a sect of either !
Guru Nanak was the true Prophet and His teachings were His own thoughts which took the good out of Islam, Hinduism and to some extent, Christianity. You could call that a mix, but I wouldn't. Only portions of religions were incorporated into His teachings + His own thoughts.
After Guru Gobind Singh Ji, Sikhism took a whole new form and it became evident that Sikhism is not a middle ground between Hinduism and Islam. It became its own religion separate from Islam and Hinduism.
Sikh religion is based on teachings of Guru Nanak (1469-1539). As Muslims give regard to Muhammad, Christians to Jesus, Hindus to Krishna, Sikhs give the same regard to their Gurus. At that time of Guru Nanak, Hindostan (modern India, Pakistan, Bengla Desh, Burma and Sri Lanka) had four prominent religions namely Hindus, Muslims, Jainism and Yogis called Sidhas (A mixture of Hinduism and Buddhism). Buddhism had disappeared from India but Lamas were present in Tibet. All these religions were corrupted. People were being robbed on the name of religion. He was born in a small village in Punjab and started his mission around 1500. He had four long missionary journeys during which he travel led about 70000 mks. He went to all religious places and taught people the true religion. He converted thugs, cannibals, condemned caste system and untouchableIT society. He preached equality of man and woman. He boldly said that in God's eyes no one is Hindu or Muslim. He looks at deeds. When he died his Hindu followers built a shrine on his name and Muslim made a grave. These are still preserved at Kartarpur in Pakistan. Nine more human Gurus followed him. People who followed him were later on called Sikhs (Disciples) There after Guru Granth Sikh scriptures was declared Guru of the Sikhs. Sikhism talks about unification of all mankind. Any man or woman from any religion can come to Gurudwara(place of worship). There is free food for every needy person
Guru Granth is the holy book of Sikhs. It is poetry and can be sung. To understand fully we need to pay attention to Rahao or pause, which contains the gist of shabad or song. In versions where there is no pause gist normally is in last lines. Gurus/bhagats talked with Hindus and Muslims and used their vocabulary. Guru Granth is full of love and logic. More you dig into it, more you love God. It does not matter what path you choose. It also comes heavily on fake rituals like practicing celibacy, begging, creating Parallel gods, believing in fasts, pilgrimage. Sikhism does not believe in imposing anything but accepts Sehaj, which means everything should come as a result of love.
