Huge difference. Infact there is nothing special similarities between Islam and Sikhs. If you are thinking about turban, then keep in mind that they both wear different type of turban.

Generally it is believed that Sikhism is influenced by Islamic teaching, but it is mostly spiritual teachings and nothing to do with doctrine.

There are similarities and dissimilarities. Both believe in one God. In Islam God lives at seventh heaven, in Sikhism God is everywhere and his residential place is mind. In Islam God can be offended, in Sikhism God never gets offended, punishment we get is because of our own karma-means sowing cactus will not bring mangoes. In Islam, there are limited numbers of prophets and Muhammad is the last. In Sikhism, God has unlimited virtues including prophets he bless for the uplifting of humanity. Islamists believe in four books of their religions and many of them destroy books of other religions, Sikhs have their own holy scriptures called Guru Granth Sahib. They are free to read any book. They are not allowed to disrespect others faith. In fact Sikh scriptures say, "Sab Gur Pier Hamarey-it means all the prophets are ours" but Sikhs do not treat anyone else equal to their Gurus. That is equal to saying, No aunt can equate with your mother. There is no Kaffirism in Sikhism. There is also no importance to pilgrimage like jazz etc. Sikhs ridicule fast ism on the name of religions. Sikh scriptures come heavily on people who consider woman as inferior to man. Sikhism is full of music while music is ha ram (forbidden) in Islam.

Both these religions reject caste system. Both these religions believe in God as One ultimate reality. Both these religions believe in remembering Him all the time. Both these religions believe in Khidmat or seva or service of humanity.
