actually they are sent to different types of hells for each crime they have committed.....certain scriptures have details of each type of hell......the soul is punished badly for ages and threes no Misha or freedom provided to the soul....once the soul has completed the appropriate suffering it is born again in the earth assuming a lower form of life(probably a small insect)...it has to go Thur millions of births again to finally assume a human form.....
