If Men and Women are considered equal in Sikhism, then why not any women Gurus?
Sikhism is known to allow only ONE wife and ONE husband and is against polygamy as they claim that it degrades women. Sikh women claim that the scripture ONE man ONE woman makes them equal to men.
Guru Har Gobind and Guru Gobind Singh both had 3 wives whilst Guru Har Rai had seven or eight
So why does the Sikh scripture say ONE man ONE woman (at a time) and the Gurus practiced polygamy?
Also why were there not any Women Gurus?
Surely, they should have practiced what they preached. Cos this could suggest that polygamous marriages in Sikhism is OK
polygamy is neither encouraged nor discouraged in Sikhism . Guru Granth sahib is silent on this topic .
Marriage in Sikhism is a divine coupling , not a contract .
Mai Bhago a women used to lead Sikh warrior men in army . She was a general and also the bodyguard of Guru Gobind Singh .
This is what the Sikh scriptures say about women .

If women themselves are not ready to come forward and enjoy the rights given to them , you can't blame Sikhism or Sikhs.
Gurus were selected based on their merit in the spiritual path and as ordained by the God. There will always be stupid question like if man and woman are equal in Sikhism, why the men can not have a womb.
We are proud of our ladies. Sikhism was the first religion who said this.

Three women were made head of Manzies and there were ladies who fought with their male companions. Good luck if you are searching for truth otherwise you are wasting your time.
