Default Can someone tell me the relationship between Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism and J

For example, it seems to me that Islam has influenced mines (Jainism) to a great extent thousands of years ago. That is why it is so difficult for me to believe what is happening today. I've known a lot of Muslims in my 22 years, I've even gone to school, college, university with them and they have never ever said anything or done anything to offend me.
I'd appreciate some Muslim answers, you can email me if you want cos I wish to discuss.
scrapes:eGuyyink the media has a big hand in this process.
Second hand: I didn't quite understand?
Remy: Jains actually do not believe in Creator God, and in a text I read it said that Jainism was there before Hinduism. Although I am not sure. I'm open to suggestions ... email me
Aum: Hi. I don't know about what you have to say. I haven't experienced any negative vibes from them thus far. Remember, there is not a terrorist in every Muslim. And there is not a Muslim in every terrorist. I don't know in which country you are, but have you seen Big Brother 7? Jermaine Jackson (Micheal Jacksons brother) is a Muslim convert and he came 2nd place because of his peaceful nature. I think he is a good example of a Muslim.

I don't know why you would you expect them to be any different than anyone else. The media demonizes them because they (the media) have an agenda. I'm not paranoid, and I don't believe in so-called "conspiracy theories." But let's face it; the media, like everyone else, is influenced by money.

All these Religions propagate that God Family is superior and to be respected daily.

They did not mention that our Religion is superior and other Religion followers HUD Pray our Religion Gods and Godesses.

Hinduism has influenced Jainism, which is older than Islam.
Islam is a monotheistic religion and God is completely transcendent.
Hinduism is a polytheistic religion and the Gods are immanent.
Sikhism, as Jainism, stems from Hinduism.
Buddhism also stems from Hinduism, it has Gods (especially Tibetan Buddhism), they are important but not as the Buddha who, by reaching Nirvana, has elevated himself above the Gods.
Hope this helps

Good question. IT is very nice that you have had a good impression about Islam. Islam is a religion that is tolerant and allows respect to other religions. If you note, most minorities in Muslim countries have been treated fairly.. Islam relationship with these different religions is mainly due to political issues. I think all religions teach the concept of peace and brotherhood.

Islam and Hinduism relationship has been in conflict for some time in India. There was a time when Hindus and Muslims lived together. The British created misunderstanding using it in political sense. Muslims were not treated fairly by the Hindus which lead them for an Islamic state. That period of 1947 created hatred between both sides. During the riots, many Hindus and Muslims were killed. Even though 1947 is over, you still riots between Hindus and Muslims. Just recently you might now the Gujarat riots of 2002 where many Muslims were killed. For this also I am not blaming Hinduism. It is due to politics. The fundamentalists Hindu parties have poisoned the minds of Hindus against Muslims.

Islam relationship with Buddhism had overall been good. I really have not heard of riots between Buddhists and Muslims overall. There are some Buddhist countries where Muslim minorities live and are good. Although there is something going on in Thailand. S.Thailand is showing problems of the Muslim minorities. This also has a political reason behind it. The southern state of Thailand want independence. This had led to some militancy in S.Thailand.

Sikhism and Islam have seen some slight bitterness, which is directly connected to the Hinduism-Islam conflict. At the time of partition, the Sikhs were on the Hindu side in killing Muslims. Hindus and Sikhs were killing Muslims, while Muslims were killing Sikhs and Hindus. No of fence to Sikhism. Another political issue. I have founds Sikh people to be very warm people in general. It is said that if you now go to India, they meet with a lot of love. Things change.

Islam and Jainism might have had the best relationship. Probably because the Jains might have been smaller in number. I do give credit to Jainism for its belief in non violence. This is probably the reason Jainism has never had any conflict with any religion

Islam is religion, complete way of life, complete set of instruction to live on God's world.
Islam has nothing to do with any ISM, or Tianity thing.
Islam does not belong to any human, but from God Almighty.
Islam is since Adam, no one founded Islam as some people wrongly think.
Prophet Muhammad (pub) was Last and final Prophet of God Almighty, in series of Mighty Prophets, like Abraham, Moses, and Jesus (Peace and blessings of Almighty on all of them).

The religions seems similar to you because of the similar teachings and a common belief in God or a Superior Being. What ever your believe, just stay good to your fellow humans and have high morals.

Christianity (and all denominations), Judaism, Zorastrianism, Baha'i, Islam (and all denominations) and Rastafarian come from the Abrahamic or Semitic tradition.

Hinduism (and all denominations), Buddhism, Jainism, Zen, Falun Gong, and Yogi faiths all come from the Indian non-Semitic tradition.

Sikhism comes from the Gurmat tradition. It is the third "tradition."

There were Christian crusaders, Moghul invaders, and many other groups that came and took over countries and converted many people. This is why many religions became influenced by other religions.
