I guess that you're asking after someone who was born of mixed religion parents where one was Hindu and the other was Sikh.
Actually, the Sikhs and Hindus are just the same. In fact, the Sikhs go by the title "Protector of Hinduism" because they were the martial faction that fought the Moguls and Muslims to protect the Hindus. It was a fashion that the first born son of a Hindu family would be "given" to the Sikh Panth to grow up to be Sikh Warrior and protect his people.
Their Guru - Nanak Dev tried to build a bridge between Hinduism and Islam, but it was in vain as a Mogul Emperor - Aurangzeb murdered a descendant Sikh Guru, much later, who laid his life down to protect the Hindus in his watch. This infuriated the last Sikh Guru so much that he had all of them swear that they would not cut their hair, among other things, till the last Muslim was eradicated from the Indian sub-continent.
Today, their "Religions" are totally opposed to one another and they are traditionally enemies to the death.
This was, incidentally, told to me by some Sikh friends whom I teased about their wearing turbans; where they gently warned me that since I was an ignorant foreigner, they'd spare me this time around, but cautioned me against ever doing that again.
It is very common for Hindus and Sikhs to inter-marry, if you can call it that, since, they are almost the same, perhaps just different denominations.
I hope this helped.
