Default What Do You Know About Sikhism?

Why would someone want to practice it? What is it about? What affect does it have on your life? What is your personal opinion on it? How did it start? What else do you know about it?

Sikh means student in Punjabi, they must wear a turban and not cut their hair, their holy book is the Guru Granth Sahib. they don't have a caste system, they have a ceremonial dagger, many Sikhs have Singh in their name, it means Lion.

I was wondering, wasting my time in ignorance, no one was caring about me. When I came to the sanctuary of Guru, I feel like king. Great, Great is Guru Nanak, after meeting Him, all my worries are gone and bliss is everywhere(Wording of guru Ramdas).

Read Guru Granth Sahib, try to understand it and you will know the result. Translation(through not near to correct because of translating from poetry). For me, I was born in Sikh family but I did not know much about philosophy of Guru. It changed my life when I started understanding this. God has blessed me with his service. I have donated blood many times and organized blood donation camps. I am also involved in a number of other projects which help in propagation of Sikh thought.
