Dear friend , just ponder over the words "Evidence" & "Devine inspiration" they dint belong to the same domain ... the divinely inspired do not care about the evidence ( but this does not negate the existence of proof ) .
I am a Sikh by birth; but Sikhism as its name states (discipleship & love of the one god almighty) does not fit into the "religion" paradigm.
Every person who follows a Sikh way of life does so because he sees the love of god in all human beings and surrendering to the Devinne will tries to live a natural way of life filled with devotional love for the omnipresent lord . ( Phew! big sentence ! ).
There can be many examples to show divinity but i will just put some scientific examples here (more you can read in the doc. referenced) to reiterate the complete oneness of the Guru's words with inverse and it creator :
1 ) The Guru Granth Sahib, over 540 years ago stated that their were Countless Galaxies, with countless solar systems with countless suns and earths revolving around them ! Galileo was not born until 100 years later!
2)The Tenth Guru, Guru Govind Singh, when traveling by the woods, got of his horse upon the sight of a Tombacoo Plant (Tobacco Plant). He then drew his Kirpan (holy Sword) and chopped it up, then with his feet he smeared it into the ground. Onlookers belonging to many different religions, asked the Tenths Supreme Being, why have you destroyed that plant? The Tenth Supreme Being replied " Alcohol will destroy one Generation, But Tombacoo will destroy many generations.
As all know it was only about 4-5 years ago that Scientist
discovered that Second hand Tobacco Smoke damages, thus harming(damaging or killing) the fetus and destroying the lives of children & great Grand Children & friends. So because the 10th Supreme Being was in constant communications with the One True Supreme Being(Ik Onkar, Sat Nam) he had access to absolute Science.
moreover (icing on the cake) : Sikhism ( sikhi is the correct word) says you dont need to convert to some religon named sikhism to understand the love of god. >> one of the devine statements of the guru is : " do not call the Vedas & the semitic texts(bible/koran) as wrong ; But wrong and lie filled are those who have stoped pondering and understanding them ".
So there is no point in trying to prove a non-sikh about the devine inspiration. ( Because it will naturally come to those who have been intended by the devinity to be blessed by it ! ).
