No, women are not required to wear turban in Sikhism. Only men are. Howefver, women are required to cover their head while entering a holy place (Gurudwara) which they do with a cloth called 'Dupatta', which otherwise is flung across shoulders. Sikh women also cover head in Gurudwara with Saree.

you got it wrong.it is only the Sikh men that wear the turban.
the Sikh gentlemen are identified by their five statutory "k"s
1.Jada or the bangle
2.Janka or the comb
3.Krispin or the dagger
4.keys or the hair (they are not supposed to cut their hair the turban is for covering the uncut hair)
5.Kochab or the loin cloth
however with times the Sikhs are also slowly becoming less rigid about these religious requirements

No this is not correct. Sikh men wear turban and all those entering the Gurudwara (temple of Sikhs) must cover their head with a cloth...be it a non-Sikh or a lady.

Only those Sikh women who have accepted the ritual of "Amrit Chhakana" (initiation into inner group of Sikhs) are supposed to wear a turban OR a cloth tied around their head like turban, and keep a sword... you can see many such women in Punjab (India)

Sikh women are not required to wear turbans. Some women do wear them if they have been initiated into the Khalsa, this is called being an Amritdhari. Also, all men are not required to wear a turban unless they have been initiated into the Khalsa. A very small minority of women wear turbans, but everyone MUST cover their heads and remove their shoes, when entering the Sikh place of worship (the Gurdwara). According to my cousins wearing a turban does not make a big difference, it feels like you are wearing a heavy hat for the first few times and if you tie it too tight.
